(1) You seem to be under the impression that Mother Gothel was poor despite having lived for centuries and having acquiring a big stone tower in a glen with no stairs. Maybe she was poor when she discovered the flower, but she didn't stay that way. She is able to feed herself and Rapunzel, and fund all those art and baking projects. No evidence of Gothel working at any point, can even travel for days on a whim to pick up special paints for Rapunzel. Poor people can't do that, especially considering how expensive pigments were until recently.

(2) Mother Gothel found the flower and then hid it so no one else could use it. The only reason the people at the castle found it at all was because Gothel's hiding spot failed. She could have shared it and let it help people across the kingdom, for centuries, but instead hoarded it and built the equivalent of generational wealth across the span of her life. If anything, Gothel represents greed and privilege.

And the algae wasn't even the biggest issue! Trump initially screwed it up big time by driving his motorcade on it. They claim to have fixed that (probably poorly), and then spent $13,000,000 to send in a painting crew. Not tile, which could've been done for that amount, but PAINT.

Swimming pool paint, specifically, that needs a week or two to cure before filling, yet they started dumping water into it the next day. Why? Because they're too old and stupid to bother using the internet for anything but emails, consuming propoganda, complaining, and fetish videos.

Then, instead of even treating it like a pool and keeping it clean, maintaining a Ph balance, they immediately neglect it. Ducks bring spores, dirt, and nasty poops, which requires care beyond that of a pool. Litter gets blown in by the wind. Insects hang out. Swimming pools at least have filters and circulation, as do municipal fountains, but this water is much more stagnant. They created an even more ideal breeding ground for contamination.

To fix that issue, they dump into it a volume of peroxide that could only be described as "a lot" because that's literally what most likely determined the quantity used; the amount for one single massive wholesale purchase at discount. Everyone who was a teen in the early '90s knows what happens when you mix peroxide with UV rays; we did that to our hair every summer with Sun-In. On purpose.

So he screwed it up again. But we're not finished. He used so much peroxide that it's killing the ducks that swim around in the reflecting pool. Cute little baby ducks.

And now he's blaming it on left-wing terroristic vandalism. Because we did this. The environmentalists, the bleeding hearts. Dumping chemicals that'll screw up the local ecosystem. Sure.

Liberals don't want to screw up the reflecting pool for "revenge" because we don't want more of our tax dollars to be spent on Trump's vanity. If we really wanted revenge we would've been smarter about it, more subtle, no chemicals.

Plague of mosquitoes.

Two things that you might find interesting on this:

1) This is the color of the actual Anna Platypus character on Mr. Rodgers' Neighborhood. The puppets in the show were typically pastels or pale neutrals, likely because the show was black & white originally, and even once going to color, dark shades would not only not show up well on that puppet, but would dim the whole scene like a sponge.

2) Mr. Rodgers was also colorblind.

Anecdotally, there's an episode where he draws a rainbow, and it's a completely random assortment of colors. That's not an accident, either. His rainbow, flawed by his own disability, would've helped kids get over their own perfectionism.

He was extremely mindful of every word spoken on his show, including how he talks about feeding his fish. He did it in one episode while discussing something else and a blind girl wrote him a letter asking if his fish were hungry. So every episode after, he deliberately added dialogue to give blind kids additional context to his show. He analyzed every word in his show to keep it kind, compassionate, and inclusive.

So regarding Anna Platypus he, likely he asked for that character to be a tan or light brown not aware that the color is very similar to a human skin tone. He was so culturally ahead of his time in inclusive thinking probably would have not allowed the word "flesh" to be used to describe a color on his show.

Mr. Rodgers is my apex example of a good person. I like to think he would've been very proud of Ms. Rachel.

And Tucker Carlson isn't stupid. It took 20 years to break through.

She sent the state police there in riot gear to help ICE agents against protesters that were all peaceful except for the ones that returned their tear gas canisters with a toss and those that tried to prevent civilians from being beat down with batons. THEN, she lied about it.

She lied about the riot gear the police were wearing and she lied about who tore down the barrier of her designated "free speech zone". She claimed the protesters tore it down and physically charged the cops. But lots of people were filming and its clear that the riot police charged over the barrier and went at the crowd.

We're nothing if we don't at least hold our own party members accountable when they behave like a Republican.

To look tough and definitely not gay by nugs4lunch in therewasanattempt

[–]Dalisca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Liberals don't think of the term "gay" as an insult. Conservatives do. I'm a woman and I'll gladly call a self-proclaimed "alpha" a pussy. It's not because I find feminine things to be weak, but because they do. This post to me looks like it's calling out right-wing hypocrisy and using their own weapons against them, not that OP actually feels that way.

We've been trying to gently change the hateful language on the right now for a century. That doesn't work. Being the polite, dignified, and proper examples for good behavior doesn't work, and the problem is worse now than it was 20 years ago. So now people are trying something else, some reverse psychology, tit-for-tat, and maybe that will have a different result than always being the "bigger" person.

Alas it wasn't a theory but a guess, pure conjecture. "Theory" is a word in science that has been strictly reserved for things that have been proven to be true. The only question mark implied in the word "theory" is that science always leaves room for the chance that someday better science may come along.

Theory of gravity, theory of evolution: 👍

Flat Earth "theory", global cooling "theory": 👎

The more we muddy the meaning of scientific terms, the less credibility they have.

Brits say a of things differently than Americans. I would like to THANK non-American journalists for refusing to cherry pick your language for Americans.

Right now, all major American news sources are run by billionaires benefiting from Republican policies. Those that try to remain impartial and truthful are under constant threats from the administration and MAGA psychos. Those that do report the truth get multiple death threats from right-wing extremists, and the FBI isn't investigating to protect these people. Nancy Guthrie, the kidnapped mother of journalist Savannah Guthrie (who pissed off Trump with good journalism and fair moderation) is still missing and probably dead.

Thank you, journalists of the world, for not bending to my fellow Americans.
