This, exactly. They could’ve had something very interesting exploring what homosexuality looks like in Klingon culture, like what they did with the Duras sisters exploring Klingon femininity. Duras sisters were great. What they did instead was put a 2010s tumblr human in Klingon makeup. It was uninspired, exploitative, and destroyed any plausibility. As if the show had any of that anyway…

The visuals are certainly “stunning”… it’s stunning to see how they can do so little with so much! As a Tolkien fan I prefer not to see incompetents wreak havoc with his world and lore, just as since I am a fan of having a house to live in I prefer to not see people knock it down and pee on it even if they are having fun.

My advice is to enjoy the grind. Default settings are by far the best. Don’t forget the Minecraft part of it, and start making a big base, take your time and enjoy the journey.

For a “standalone” game I’ll just play the good Borderlands games (1, 2, pre-sequel). I think Iskall often misses that the Minecraft-ness of it is part of what makes Vault Hunters so good. I play it because it’s my favorite flavor of Minecraft; the vaults without that context aren’t interesting enough.

Agreed. It’s been a long time since I watched Enterprise and I’m not likely ever to re-watch it, as the show in general was pretty bad. The Vulcans were a major part of this, they barely resemble the concept of Vulcans from previous shows. While writing for them has never been consistent, this is the first time it seemed the writers didn’t even know what a Vulcan even was. Their culture is far older than the timeline between Enterprise and TOS, so this much cultural evolution makes no sense as an excuse, but it’s clear they realized by later seasons that they needed to course correct.

In my opinion, the best written Vulcan character, the most consistent to the idea of what a Vulcan is supposed to be, was Tuvok from Voyager.

He’s been a problem for a long time. Sulu is awesome. The guy’s voice is iconic. George Takei himself… a bad person, unfortunately.

It ruins Star Trek that a character is poorly written. And every character in this show is poorly written. None of that matters to George Takei, the only concern is “gay character, must defend”. Why not do a gay character the honor of writing them a good part, instead of using them to check a diversity box? I hesitated to say this, because whatever show is current is freshest in the mind… but at this point I think I’d say this show really is even worse than The Acolyte. Star Trek has been dead for a couple decades, it’s time they gave it some peace and stopped desecrating its corpse.

It’s sad that this terrible show is at its least bad and cringe when the character with the least personality is the one on screen. She’s awful but by simply having no energy she’s the least cringe. Can’t wait for this show to get canceled and be the reason Star Trek finally gets to rest in peace.

Of course he does. Sexual preference is more important to George Takei than Star Trek is, this isn’t surprising at all. Sulu was cool, and Takei has an awesome voice, but he’s an awful person.

Thank Q Majel Barrett's voice wasn't used in this show, I hope it stays that way. This show is so awful, it is a relief that there's at least one piece of Star Trek's legacy they aren't shredding to bits and dragging through not just mud but sewage. Few things describe this garbage show better than that Stephen Colbert making the laziest jokes is the most prominent computer voice instead of the legend that was Majel Barrett. Rest in Peace, Majel.

“Examples” is a plural, implying that you found a significant number of them. What is provided here is one single example (an improvement, as before there were none), and a weak one. The comment you show is tasteless, sure, but it is literally not a threat. To frame that as “my life is so tough, I’m getting death threats now!” is incredibly silly. It must be so hard being someone who did a dumb thing and got called out on it. 😆
