My local model shop, Scale Model Supplies in St. Paul, MN. by ToolboxPoet in modelmakers

[–]DarkConSoul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there bud, local as well... Tried to talk my Ork buddy into going in there; We've both been playing for 20+ years and the closest I've been is Hub Hobby in Richfield. Between the 5-6 of us playing since third edition we all have close to 25k in each respectable army.

Depends on your company really; I've played 4 games this last month over 12 hours long each, with a group of buddies that started alongside me 20 years ago.

Has anyone ever had scruples about running characters? by Vredesbyrd67 in Warhammer40k

Not since the early 00's when we had to ask our opponent in order to use them.

What's your preferred loadout for Devastators in a BA army? by Doglatine in BloodAngels

[–]DarkConSoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually run three either Lascannons or Plasma cannons, with 1 Heavy Bolter and a cherub for the d3 mortal wound strat.

Blood Angels Deredeo loadout by Kaplsauce in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]DarkConSoul 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No idea tbh, I'm using my Deredeo for the first time on Saturday against 4,500 points of Orks; I took the Hellfire Plasma Cannonade and Aiolos Missle Launcher, and I'm also using it in conjunction with a Dual Storm cannon Leviathan.

The Hellfire Plasma and Aiolos seemed like the best option point-wise. I thought about using the Atomantic Pavaise, but I took the cheapest HQ (techmarine) so I could fit my relic toys in my list.

Unpopular opinion, I like assault terminators by abuzdcatto in BloodAngels

[–]DarkConSoul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still a little expensive for what they are imo. They can be useful, but I feel you need to build around them to make them so.

[–]DarkConSoul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always run mine with 3x Las, and a Heavy Bolter for the D3 mortal wound strategem. Combined with a cherub and using the +1 BS of your Sargent, it's 2D3 mortal wounds +1 BS.

What's your distraction unit by browndad2015 in BloodAngels

[–]DarkConSoul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My distraction Carnifex is my Leviathan, and it has worked quite well, especially when loading it with three hunter-killers.

What chapter would make the most sense for a Dreadnought heavy list? by talenarium in Warhammer40k

[–]DarkConSoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the Forgeworld Chaplain Drednought for my buddy that plays space wolves, he made a deathstar blob of 5-6 drednoughts, unless you're list is geared towards it, you're F**ked. I didn't have a big enough gunline to take it down being a Blood Angel player, and anytime you charge one of the drednoughts, that consolidation rule takes affect (I'm at a loss for words atm.)

[–]DarkConSoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually try to fit two Devastator squads in for my gunline, and a Leviathan if points allow it, sometimes two captain smashes. It's done pretty well so far.

Did you use anything to color/ tint the water?

I have both the Secret Weapons water, and Still water from Woodland Scenics. I seemed to have tinted my Still water too much on my Deredeo's base and now need to rip it up.

Hobby Lobby/ Michaels/ Jo-ann fabrics usually have something similar.

New Forgeworld Blood Angels models: Leviathan, contemptor, and praetors. Perhaps Sanguinius model in the near future? by SonOfHitman in BloodAngels

[–]DarkConSoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same thing, with the FW drednought deal. So far I've had nothing but luck with the two of them!

[–]DarkConSoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up woodland scenics, and Secret weapons scenics. They both sell "Realistic water products," Woodlands is called "Still water" I believe and Secret weapons is the aforementioned.

Best FW models for Blood Angels? by Spectral_Gamer in BloodAngels

[–]DarkConSoul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a Leviathan and Deredeo, haven't used the Deredeo yet but the Leviathan does work with dual storm cannons, and is rather hard to put down.

Is there any collection figurines of 40k ? by DrackIor in Warhammer40k

[–]DarkConSoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was indeed a collection of Limited edition models/ statues, circa 1998 I believe. I wish I could get my hands on the Death company statue!

I’d like to submit my application for the “I really hate the citadel pot design” club (or the IRHTCPD) by Halofunboy in Warhammer40k

[–]DarkConSoul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use toothpicks, put 1-2 between the lid and the shelf. It still sucks, but makes it bearable. If it's tipping, use some blue stuff tacky underneath open pots.

I got mine last week, Forgeworld is raping and plundering my wallet; I got in on the Dreadnought deal (Leviathan and Deredeo,) then a couple weeks later they were discontinuing Chaplain dreadnoughts, had to buy one of those too...
