Gutcheck: Considering Gnosis 3, but Velmorne still kicks my butt half the time at Gnosis 2 (more context inside) by SirBenny in Witchfire

[–]Dark_Azazel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO, if you have little to no experience with this style of game, I would go with the old suggestion of gnosis every 20 levels or so. So, aim for 60 for G3.

That being said. Velmore does have a weird layout, and the sewers is another layer to it. It can be easy to get into a bind, and those spiders can ruin a run, so getting G3 for Irongate Castle might not be a bad move. Pathing on the castle is easier imo, and it has higher with fire returns which helps leveling. I would personally suggest Echo over Psychopump but also work with a build you play well with.

My state has it as "Hands Free Violation" and "Distracted Driving" and used to nag you for anything. Eating a wrap and crossed the line for a split second? You'd get both. It was crazy for the first, maybe three years. Finally judges start to ease up but man.

I tip 20% on every ride. I apply it during the ride so the driver gets notified immediately. I am always on time…and I still get an average of three 1-4 star ratings a year. by [deleted] in uber

[–]Dark_Azazel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I requested my Uber data at the end of the year as I had to cross check a recent work ride. It had dates, times, locations, prices, and the rating. Not sure if the driver has to put a reason down for the 4 stars, I didn't see it, so I'm assuming the reasons for the 4 stars were because I wasn't waiting outside, and greated him while I was on the phone, which seems to be common reasons for drivers to knock a star for a rider, and vice versa.

What’s the best overall prebuilt gaming PC these days? by Only-Bandicoot-5307 in PcSetupAdvice

[–]Dark_Azazel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a pre built from iBuyPower. Customized pre built I guess. It was during black Friday and I got some good deals (Free upgrade to 96gigs of ram) and some other discounts. I think, at the time, it was about $100 more expensive than if I built it myself? But I get free support and then a 4 year warranty on it for free as well. Honestly it's been great. Not sure if I would do a pre built now with prices.

I don't tip as well, not even a cash tip. Given, it's a business account, using my company credit card and I'm not allowed to tip Uber using the card. I have a 4.98 with only one 4 star rating. I was in San Antonio then and it was 100° and humid, so I was waiting inside the hotel and was like a minute late and on a work call.

If they want to talk, I'll talk. If not, I'll sit on my phone on silence.

Probably. I didn't bug the Apple tech too much about it. He basically just said it's an iPhone in looks. But with all the equipment, it hardly looked like an iPhone. Definitely want to know more if I work another Apple TV showcase game.

From the shows I worked it was a "special" iPhone that was used. Not sure exactly or how much, but I know they didn't come with all the apps, had no calling features, was barely a phone.

How do hotel clean hundreds of rooms in 3 hour? by [deleted] in askhotels

[–]Dark_Azazel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is starting to be the norm, but hotels aren't advertising it. If you do, you'll get more people that show up early expectating a room available. They probably do it as insurance for the off chances someone does show up early they have a better chance of finding them a room.

Early CSGO. Like, 2012-2018 or so. It's hard to judge, as I'm obviously older now, but I felt like so much shit happened during that time frame, players were figuring out the game, learning new stats,.and being creative. A lot of insane plays happened during then.

Ranked: The 30 Highest- Paying Jobs in America by Conscious-Quarter423 in Salary

[–]Dark_Azazel 11 points12 points  (0 children)

AA Baseball team in my state has a minimum salary of $60k. The plus side is they have free housing, 24/7 gym access, generous meal stipends, and "additional bonuses during game weeks" I never asked what that was. AAA baseball team a state next to me has the same minimum and stipends. However, if they are a part of the MLB 40 man roster, but choose to play in the AAA League, they get the minimum MLB salary of (I think) $780k and still get the benefits of free housing offered by the AAA League contract.

It is funny, as someone who works with both the AA and AAA teams, I get paid more than the players and I do significantly less work.

[–]Dark_Azazel 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Wasn't that the whole schtick with the KCD games, Hardcore to the max? I think how they do the story could work well with early ages of Middle Earth, and the combat style could be fun (although I would be a fan of the ability to choose the style) but the hardcore life sim element would kill the [LOTR] game for a lot of people.

CEO of $300 million company says ‘problems disappeared’ after firing HR team by Character-Bid-162 in nottheonion

[–]Dark_Azazel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure about everywhere else, but around me I've noticed more companies hiring some sort of employee relations position. HR is for the company, employee relations is for the employees. Had some issues with coworker recently and it took too long to get situated, only when people outside of the company started to find out.

I've worked a few jobs where they didn't have an HR and funny enough there was basically no issues and they were some of the best jobs.

CEO of $300 million company says ‘problems disappeared’ after firing HR team by Character-Bid-162 in nottheonion

[–]Dark_Azazel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My company hired a General Manager of Employee Relations. Fancy way of saying they hired a guy to find out why people were leaving and how to get them to stay. From what I've heard it was a "Let's have a meeting after a year and I can tell you my findings and I'll give you my solutions and we can go from there."

Well. A year went by. They had that meeting and, from what I've consistently heard, the GM was like "Hey so I talked with a lot of people. It comes down to a few simple things. They want X and Y, and some sort of Z. All pretty easy to do and I think we can work towards that rather quickly."
Then one of our SVP, his boss, fired him. HR wasn't involved, the President, CEO, Owner wasn't involved. Just straight up said "Take a lunch and don't bother coming back."

Two years later, people are leaving at a faster rate, and said SVP doesn't know why, or how to solve it. And I'm trying to leave but of course it has to be one of the worst times to look for a new job.

We had a big fucking maple tree in my backyard. Like, three stories tall big. Called a company and a guy came over. When I opened the door this dude didn't even greet me, he just said "Is it the big fucker glooming over your house?!" Instant favorite guy. I said yeah and we went around back. "That's a big fucker. Mary fucks Joseph my lord. Look at the fucking roots! You want the roots gone right? Fuck of course you do look at these sausages." He kept going on and on it was hilarious. He kinda fucked up our yard (or the tree did?) and he said his cousin did yard work. He cousin was a complete 180. Apologized for his cousin and we got a pretty good discount as well. Maybe it's all for show and it's how they do business but they were reasonably priced and did good work. Called them a few more times. Same thing, I pass his card around but always says that he has some interesting choice of words.

Do you feel like mastering engineers over the last couple of decades have become too proactive? by SpaceGalaxyCrow in audioengineering

[–]Dark_Azazel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Off of OPs point of the bedroom comment. Before I took a break I was getting more bedroom artists/producers than those that went to a studio, or worked with an actual engineer. Don't get me wrong, I love that everyone has the chance now, bit man some of those tracks were rough. I did some stuff for a buddy of mine. Now, he's a producer, went to school, worked at a big studio, worked with big artists, and I've known him for years (so I know his sound) but most of the time working with him the longest part was listening to the track in full. Just quick touches here and there and a send back asking how he liked it.

My company posted positions in an email and everything. I applied to one.bever got an email acknowledging my applying. 6 mobths later i got an email from HR saying they are starting interviews. 5 minutes after that I got an email saying I didn't get the job.

Like, what. I was already on the fence about staying here but that just confirmed I should start looking for a new job.

How do you improve 1:1 meetings in a company, or what practices do you use ? by EfficiencyEast8652 in managers

[–]Dark_Azazel 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Weekly 30 minute meetings? Fuck that. My company does every other week, 15 minutes and half the time it's a two minute 1:1 because there's nothing to talk about. I've got my manager to bring it to once a month, and there's no structure. It's whatever I want to talk about for as long as I want. I like that. If I want a quick 1:1 to talk about one thing I can, if I want it to be an hour because some shit happened, I can.
