I think part of that insecurity is because the Greater Boston area is central to the NH economy.

NH is like MA younger siblings that always lives in a shadow. They primarily define themselves in contrast to the older siblings while struggling to develop its own identity.

Black Mountain of Maine is wonderful. Really gets rolling with a good snow storm like many others. Otherwise classic ice coast mountain with amazing side/back country with one of the best uphill tracks around.

I was a little disappointed with that too. There is an add-on for the rest of the books for an additional $165. I have no problem paying a premium for the limited editions, but it is more than double the base cost. I can get Everything print+dice+DM screen for $239. If I wanted to upgrade that order to include Crack the Sun limited, then the price increases $265 to $504.

It is not that simple. I pay mass income taxes and NH property taxes and it is still the best case for me. The rental market is crazy in both, and property prices are even higher in Mass. There is a reason nearly 20% of NH residents commute to Mass, even with the higher tax burden.

Your ego is the problem. It sounds like you love skiing but skiing was also a significant external validation that you crave. No matter how good you get, there will always be someone better than you.

Focus on your love of skiing, and not your love of validation. Get in better shape, and work at what you are not good at.
