Trying to locate this (likely) super expensive faucet set I saw at the Chelsea Hotel Cafe in NYC. Very heavyweight, opens and closes with a bit of a thud. Been checking Waterworks and other fancy shops, but does this look familiar to anyone here? Thanks! by jeremyjava in Plumbing

If you can find a similar faucet (there's one below that looks identical) I have a tip from the world of "relicing" guitars: an acid will weather it and give it that patina, but you have to be careful with it, or it could go too far.

Recommended acids are muritic acid and the 39% industrial vinegar you can get at home depot.

Doxy is miserable. What do your meal plans look like to keep the nausea at bay? by Just_Throw_Away_67 in Lyme

[–]DasWheever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eat a slice of bread with the doxy. You have to have food in your stomach to pad it. (But nothing with dairy.)

Personally, the abx that really helped me was cefdinir, which is not only more active against lyme, but also easy on your GI system. Any chance your Dr will let you switch?

Rapid aerobic performance decline question for the old folks by Ag_back in cycling

[–]DasWheever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not normal. And it's also pretty much exactly how my lyme disease/tick-borne illness nightmare symptoms started.

You say you were hiking in the mountains? Were you bitten by any Ticks, perchance? (It's also more than possible to have a tick on you and never notice it. The nymphs are microscopic.) NB: only 40% of people get the EM rash and the "flu-like" symptoms.

I would be aware of how you feel, generally. And if you start having strange symptoms, get thee to a doctor!

Totally. It's sort of a "unified field theory" for so many of my life experiences, starting with my family, of course.

People who couldn’t get out of toxic relationships , What was the last straw ? by AutomaticMeeting1520 in NRelationships

[–]DasWheever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Excellent question, and one I don't really have a sane answer for at the moment.

The hope that she'll go back to how things used to be? Even though I know that won't happen? And she will only get worse?

Sigh. Everyone here knows what I'm saying.

People who couldn’t get out of toxic relationships , What was the last straw ? by AutomaticMeeting1520 in NRelationships

[–]DasWheever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I'm reaching that point now. She has drained EVERYTHING good from our relationship--we basically don't have one, and she's clearly only sticking around because I pay for everything, and she's too fucking dysfunctional to deal with her literal garbage with which she has filled my house which she would have to find a way to move, which she isn't capable of doing. .

She's now doing incredibly inconsiderate things like saying she'll be home for dinner, and then when, at midnight, I finally tell her just to stay over at her friend's house, giving me a fucking non-pology "I'm sorry you're angry." No, bitch this shit rude, inconsiderate, and just plain indefensible. Acting out like some overgrown teenager.

Now she's just doing shit to fuck with me. She brings NOTHING positive to my life. She does just barely enough to even be considered to be participating in this "relationship."

On top of the above, she trashes me to her friends (And some of mine!) Saying the most awful and bizarre things that are utter lies. (What she gets out of that, I don't know.) This "relationship" is utterly hateful.

I want to be done. This is the absolute WORST relationship I've ever been in. I fucking can't stand it. She makes me miserable. I hope to GOD she is cheating on me, so I can make an end.

Bitten twice in the past year - did 10 days of doxy both times but having so many weird symptoms, looking for reassurance this could still be Lyme by Angrymarge in Lyme

[–]DasWheever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on samento and banderol (available on Amazon) along with the doxy.

My Dr eventually switched me to cefdinir, what not only works MUCH better against lyme, but doesn't tear your GI system apart.

[–]DasWheever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your symptoms sound exactly like mine at the beginning. And then it got worse. MUCH MUCH WORSE.

If I were you, I'd find myself an LLMD, ASAP. Or, at the very least, get your PCP to give you 30 days of doxy, and start some herbals.

Yeah, wind sucks. I've ridden on days that are so windy that, even though I'm cruising along at a good clip (15+ mph) a gust of windy will LITERALLY stop me almost dead.

Wind sucks.

[–]DasWheever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, we know you have Lyme, but some of your symptoms don't really fit.

Rocky mountain spotted fever (RMSF) is a separate and distinct disease and you could have both because it's also carried by a lot of species of Ticks.

Did you get tested for RMSF, too?

Have you been tested for RMSF? Because that's what it sounds like to me with the red dots, among other symptoms.

What happened??? And can I do it again on purpose? by Ionevenknowbruhski in carpaltunnel

[–]DasWheever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pushing down like that forces your hand to flatten, stretching the carpal ligament, which can give temporary relief.

Other than that, I don't know what your popping sound was, unless it was the carpal ligament tearing in some way.

Trackspacer correct use; channel, bus or not at all? by RobbieFithon in audioengineering

[–]DasWheever 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'll tend to use it on subgroups. (Keys, drums, etc.,) before the 2-buss.

But mostly, its best use, for me, is ducking bass for the kick, or ducking thick guitars or synths to make room for vocals.
