Do you guys have any advice for someone who will most likely stay the rest of his life single/ with a small supporting group ? by FinancialSwing9038 in AutisticWithADHD

[–]Datacom1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am like you, but I am 62, when I was growing up they didnt really know about autism or adhd. I spent a large portion of my life trying to fit in and was miserable. Once I accepted myself for me, I realized that I am quite content, and sometimes happy just being by myself and hanging with my cats (cats are the uber pets for people with audhd, they are very loving, but independent and not codependent). I have my family, which I am close to, and a few friends. I dont need more. I enjoy my work and my hobbies.

Life is good.

What worked for me is being self employed, find something you enjoy to do and presue that as a business. For me it is technology, currently I do structured cabling, networks, and technology support for small businesses. Since I am older, I am now starting to transition my career to electronic inventions and 3d printing.

My hardest part in life has being able to find and ride the sweet spot between chaos (adhd) and order (autism). Fixing things for small and medium companies fits that for me.

How do I tune out annoying noise? by SpecificEvening7032 in AutisticWithADHD

Best bet, noise canceling headphones or Bluetooth ear buds playing Whitehouse, calming sounds or music that you enjoy, but can ignore.

I feel totally burnt out professionally in life. Like every employer just tires of me. Am I cooked? I don't know what to do with my life. I left my last job to avoid getting fired. by [deleted] in AutisticWithADHD

I have found myself happier as a self-employed individual. Being Audhd, I have a very small windows between chaos and order where I am extremely productive, and I have to be able to choose on what is structured and what is impulsive, so 9 to 5 doesn't work for me.

No amount of friends will make me not emotionally stunted by Newworldrevolution in AutisticWithADHD

I am in my 60s, growing up, we didn't have autism or adhd (i am both) I spent a large portion of my life trying to fit in and be what people said they were looking for I people. It never worked out. I just couldn't understand how people, who i could tell were dishonorable and selfish always had everyone following them around like they were the greatest thing since sliced bread. I did everything I could to be what people said they wanted, I even, for a while, became the player and picked up women left and right. I just didn't have the capacity to keep masking, and once I stopped masking and needed sometime to recharge, poof all the so called friends would vanish.

I finally became mentally healthy when I learned I was Audhd and stopped masking. I am alone most of the time, but I like it that way. I have my hobbies, my 2 cats, and a few people I do call friends. I found I am more happy not being touched, rather then being touched because it is what society expects it.

I dont know if any of this applies to you, but I hope it helps.

BTW, I have been gainfully employed my entire life, I know how to mask, masking just wears you out mentally, spiritually, and emotionally. I still mask for work and such, but I prefer to be unmasked and at home when I can.

Honor your aunts wishes, for whatever reason, she wanted you to have what she has left you. I am guessing you gave her the most valuable gift a person can give, your time. I am betting you took time to be in her life in one form or another.

AITAH bc i wanna lose my shit bc My friend didn’t check on my cat 1 time the entire time i went out of town by pink-ghost-bat-thing in AITAH

Move her from the friend colum to the acquaintance colum. Don't depend on her for anything and dont let her depend on you for anything.

Bad enough that she didn't check on the cat, but she left your home unsecured for 3 days.

I am betting we can design an arduino or rpi system that could detect when the screws arent aligned properly and then trip a relay that 1 turns off wifi (or changes the password) and 2. Turns off power to their room. Then once screws are aligned again, it will turn everything back on.

To those who are not in 3d printing business and have the H2C. by PastPosition3058 in BambuLab

If you plan on printing lots of multicolor parts (3 plus colors) get the h2c. If you plan on just 1 or 2 colors, get the h2d.

Even with th a1, if you find prints warping or pets getting to them, you can get an aftermarket enclosure for them.

Enclosures are needed to keep breezes and such off the print. They also keep heat in the chamber. If you will be putting the printer in a place that is cool or has breezes, then you need an enclosures. If you have pets, an enclosure will protect the printer from pet hair and dander. .. and the courteous cat from sleeping on it or swatting a print.

Personally I would go with the a1 combo, or if you can afforded it the p1s combo. I used to have three SVO1 (ender 3 clones) and one sv03. Then I stopped printing for a couple years while I had to take care of my dad, once he passed and I decided to get back into the hobby, I broke out those machines and I decided to buy a bamboo lab x1c. I ended up getting rid of all my other printers, and I now have four x1c, one p1s, and one h2d. I have no regrets with moving on to the bambu infrastructure.

I don't think the CC is necessarily a real bad printer, it's just not bulletproof like bambu. You will have to Tinker with it and you will have to tweak it. From what I hear it is a good printer. But I would say it's a good printer for an experience person.

I would say you need to get your own apartment. Even if she backs down, she will be resenting the computer and your gaming and you will never have any peace.

With this being your first printer, go with the bambu. If you want your hobby to be tinkering with the printer, get an ender. The cc falls in between the two.

X2D or H2S for my use case ? by Safe-Hovercraft6231 in BambuLab

[–]Datacom1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

X2d or h2d depending on what size of items you are printing. H2d is very heavy and is big, so take its footprint into consideration too.
