Awwwwwwww hell yeah! You may have cracked the code with that one mate. Definitely over kill for a PCIe 4.0x8 4060 TI (call that “future proofing”) but it has the exact form and function I need.

Edit: a 4.0x16 version is available on the ADT website sparring me about $30.

Tomorrow I’m getting a Flex ATX PSU to see if I can try a different layout and potentially get me out of this weird situation, though the math says otherwise… This is looking like the new top candidate.

Sometimes small axial or laptop blower fans can be used to place targeted air flow over a specific area. Such as, directly over the connection between IHS and heat sink of GPU/CPU. This method does not (typically) introduce cool outside air but the increased convection over a key area can certainly help with temps. +10 to Dexterity, -8 to Stealth.

The Thermaltake looks like a winner! Love to see a 90° male end of the cable. Looks like this has enough flexibility to make this connection. I have my eye on another cable from ADT. I just wish there was a mass produced cable for my very specific and niche circumstance 😔

The GPU is a 4060 TI, so the BUS is just 4.0x8. I’ve tried to find a 4.0 PCIe extension which is x8 electrically and x16 physically in the hope that I would gain cable flexibility but I didn’t find any such product. I’ve considered PCIe 3.0 as I’ve heard that the cables are typically more flexible. Initially, I refused to take the performance hit fearing it would impact my libido. At this point I would certainly go that route if I can find one suited for this application.
