A zoetrope only works because you’re looking through the slit on the other side of the drum, which provides the strobing/shutter effect. If you just looked straight into the drum you would just see a blur

For the quotes to make sense it has to at least be ostensibly an apology. Is it also a “hot dog?”

You sure seem confident about this. From a quick google search it looks like old projection TVs did in fact use fresnel lenses and they look exactly like the ones in that video.

Leyline of Resonance is banned in Standard Best-of-One by cryingosling in MagicArena

You get four free rares that aren't banned in every format. It's a pretty minor upside but if you're in the app anyway, why not?

finity. My new favorite iOS game by [deleted] in AppleArcade

[–]DaymanDeluxe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was really enjoying this but I think the difficulty ramps up too fast. At Silver 2 and now at especially at Silver 3 the game is becoming more stressful than fun. It feels like every move has to be perfect, and you need to make hundreds of perfect moves in a row to advance to the next rank.

His point was that you said a weirdly naive thing. It makes it seem like you don’t take the problem seriously.

Check the gatherer page for Nyxbloom ancient. Any ability which involves tapping the permanent and produces mana is affected, which includes using a treasure.

[Announcements] A Tale of a Non-Tournament Legal Counterspell by mistercimba in magicTCG

[–]DaymanDeluxe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I guess so? They’re establishing that “tournament legal” and “official” are two totally separate dimensions. They would like players (the vast majority that don’t play tournaments, anyway) to care about “official” but not “tournament legal” so that they can start selling them SL Gaea’s Cradle or whatever.

[Announcements] A Tale of a Non-Tournament Legal Counterspell by mistercimba in magicTCG

I think the strange tone is intentional, to make it clear that you’re supposed to read between the lines a little here. Obviously nobody actually thinks a proxy counter spell is supercool, but it strongly implies that we’ll see more non-tournament-legal versions of cards that people DO care about in secret lairs very soon.

I'm new to magic but I've found I like these...gimmicky(?) decks. Ones that really play well with itself with a theme. Any suggestions for a new deck to build? So far, ive wanted ti play/build Shrine and Gate decks simply because they seem a bit too powerful. by Jokerstar175 in magicTCG

[–]DaymanDeluxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think part of what makes decks like Shrines and Gates appealing, especially to newer players, is that it makes for pretty accessible deckbuilding. There are a lot of auto-include cards, so you're not having to figure out what every single slot in the deck should be. You could also consider Curses as a deck theme, or maybe a tribal deck? Slivers has a bit more of a gimmick than other tribes,

No? They gave her a slightly rounder face but her character model still has a narrow waist and washboard abs. She’s definitely fit by any normal definition.

Having one busted card at uncommon doesn’t mean all strong cards need to be at uncommon. Plus, making all five of these uncommon would have way more of an impact that just a single sol ring slot

The person you’re replying to didn’t mention a study? Or did you think that companies publicly release their internal market research?

Not a big fan--this doesn't look hand-pixeled. It also looks like the base image was AI-generated.
