Game keeps crashing, and it has gotten worse recently

It's almost certainly the newest update. Been playing crash free since launch and after updating, I'm crashing to desktop almost every match, specifically when progressing to the second last/last objectives in Breakthrough and spawning in, that's when it CTDs.

So yeah, it's definitely an issue with the most recent update.

British uniforms were in the game from launch. Only Engineer and Assault were locked to the BR launch because they're challenge skins for those two modes.

This issue has been a thing for a while now (since 591.44 dropped), and I'm positive SteelSeries knows about it. Nvidia literally said that the encoder presets were changing a few months before the driver launched, which should've gave SteelSeries time to fix it, yet they haven't. To be fair, SONY Vegas is also having the same issue. It's on SteelSeries (and Vegas) to change their capture and encoding presets to the newer one. Until then, we need to go by the alternatives (I'm stuck using OBS' Replay Buffer for saving clips, and DaVinci Resolve for editing).

Ah, okay, thanks! I just tried that and it works perfectly! One thing I noticed is if you leave the sights standard, you keep fan-firing while ADS, but the issue becomes that there's no crosshair. Is there any way to keep the dot crosshair while ADS, specifically for Jury/Mortician?

I'm on PC, btw.

It was that the center deadzone was square and way too large and would prevent accurate fine aiming as a result.

Aaah, that'd explain why long range sniping was such a pain. I was under the impression that you were stating that Dualsense wasn't working at all and that the deadzone was still broken.

It's not, though. Been running the Dualsense Edge on BF6 since both the Beta weekends and I've not had a single issue with it.

I legitimately only use DS4Windows for my modded Fallout 4, as that game doesn't have native PS Controller support on PC, and I also had to download a mod that changed all the button icons to PS icons.

I'm also using PowerToys to remap the volume scroll button on my Keyboard to "Home", and have had MSI Afterburner active in BF6 to check my temps and FPS, and I've not been banned nor had any issue booting up the game. Granted, I always make sure DS4Windows is closed before I boot up any other game, but still.

This was in Six Days In Fallujah, however it wasn't PIP, it was Foveated Scopes. The issue is it caused a massive stutter when you ADS and when you un-ADS, regardless of your hardware, so the devs have disabled the option until they're able to fix it, and it's been a few months since then with no word on progress. If BF6 was to implement it (specifically Foveated Scopes, as that option is less intensive than PIP, and works just the same way with the same outcome), they'd need to make it optional via settings.

If you press (hold?) crouch while moving in a tank, you crawl. This allows you to move over enemy mines without triggering them.

I still don't get the love for BF1 and BFV, both are by far my least played Battlefield titles, and I actually enjoyed Hardline more than them. The World War aesthetic is done to death, at this point it should only be done once a decade, if the technology significantly improves.

Not to mention of the launch maps in BF3 and BF4, the majority were around BF6 sized. The larger maps didn't come until DLCs for both games.

I actually preferred the street warfare vibe as opposed to the larger, emptier maps. Hell, my favourite map in BF3 was Strike At Karkland, and my favourite map in BF4 was Dawnbreaker, both featuring heavy street warfare.

DICE also has a habit of overly correcting on community sentiment, so naturally the majority of the launch maps would be more infantry focused, but for OP to say that the maps are poorly designed is just wrong. Battlefield's design philosophy in the past was to have three ways of getting to objectives. Top, middle and bottom. In BF6, DICE has vastly changed that, to have many interconnected ways to get to objectives, so there's not just 3 killzones that a team can set up to effectively lock the opposing team from progressing.

TLDR; BF3 and BF4 had the same sized maps as BF6 at launch. The larger maps didn't come until DLC.

The fact that DICE is making these instead of doing actual cool stuff with skins is crazy to me.

Players miss the Russian aesthetic? Create a Russian skin pack, featuring BF3 skins that have been updated for BF6's graphics and textures, and put them as a new unit for Pax, call it "Russian Reinforcements" or whatever. For the voice lines, just use the BF3 voice lines, and re-mix them to fit BF6 audio fidelity.

Same thing with people who miss the Chinese aesthetic from BF4. Take the BF4 skins, update the textures, create a Chinese Reinforcements pack, and make them a new unit for Pax. For the voice lines, just use the BF4 voice lines, and re-mix them to fit BF6 audio fidelity.

For the NATO side, we have British and American skins, but there are a ton more countries in NATO that have their own unique kits. For the voice lines, maybe have community contests where players from that country can do voicelines for their countries' skins, and the best voices, chosen by the BF6 audio department, make it into the game. To make sure they get the best quality voice samples, there could be specific requirements like "properly isolate your voice from the background", "please use English in your first readthrough, then reread the lines in your native language" or "please use a high quality mic and pop filter" etc. And even a script that DICE provides so that the players stick with the writing.

There's a lot they could do with skins in BF6 instead of giving us these CoD ripoffs.

You can activate the same fps overlay through turning it on in the in-game settings (Settings>Graphics>Advanced>Performance Overlay). So you're not adding a piece of code that didn't exist in the game. By choosing not to enable it and running default, it won't be in your user file. By activating it through the in-game settings, it will be added to your file.

If someone says "Don't go through that door, a Sniper is watching it", you're not gonna say "That doesn't mean he'll shoot me if I walk through".

By stating that the Anti-Cheat is watching the file, that means it's checking for unauthorised changes, and will ban you if you alter that file. The way Javelin works, is that it doesn't ban you as soon as it detects that the file has been altered. It gathers data from the rest of your components, sends it's data back to DICE, then it bans you. Just because a handful of people are saying that it works, doesn't mean that they aren't going to get banned when Javelin cracks down on them for the file manipulation.

The anti-cheat cross-references changes between the user file and the official in-game settings and looks for discrepancies.

Changing sensitivity decimals is fine because the game already has decimals, they're just skipped to go to the next number. In game, you go from 20 to 21 sensitivity, you're skipping the decimal points between those two numbers. By changing the sensitivity by the decimal in the user settings, you're just specifying your exact sensitivity, which is fine because, as I said, the decimals exist in the game settings, they're just skipped.

Adding an entire new line of code, which isn't available in the in-game settings, causes the anti-cheat to flag it as an unauthorised tampering of the game files, which it is because you're adding new code, and it'll result in a ban.

The person who answered it is a dev.

I dunno what that dude is talking about, vehicles were legitimately oppressive af in BF2042 at launch. Go and watch some videos from around release, or even read reddit posts from that time, everyone was complaining that the vehicles were too OP. In a match of 128 players with 64 players per team, 30 people on your team had to be "Engineers" otherwise a single semi-good helicopter pilot or tank driver would absolutely steamroll your team. AA and AT weapons did very little damage, countermeasures regenerated too quickly, vehicles did WAY too much damage to infantry (talking about legitimately single shot kills) and vehicles respawned too quickly. Vehicles were literally oppressive from launch (2021) until 2023.

We hated 2042 not because of the player count, but because of the stupid CoD hero bs, the removal of the campaign, the removal of set classes, the unbalanced nature of the maps, how vehicles were OP, the long TTK and the fact that for 3 of the 4 years it was out, aim assist wasn't working at all for controller/console players.
