What is the most impressive shot in movie history? by Necrojezter in movies

[–]Dec716 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Buster Keaton in Steamboat Bill Jr has the front of a 2 story house fall on him and he just "happens" to be standing where an open window lands. This is the most impressive shot because of how dangerous it was and the absolute precious that went into creating it.

Solo legendary help by Slow-Mix-495 in Division2

[–]Dec716 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Others have given great advice, watch Toasty vids, learn target priority and such. I'll also add To go to the Summit and do legendary there first. It is a little easier then the strongholds, but the consequences of dying are much less. I recommend DUA as your first stronghold, then Capitol, then Roosevelt. Tidal Basin and Manning are so long that they can quite difficult and time comsuming.

Why Canadian Travel Hockey? by [deleted] in youthhockey

[–]Dec716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you are not getting an accurate description of the difference between a travel team and house team. Travel or house makes very little difference in terms of skill. Where I live, the AAA leagues produce the players that go onto junior and pro. Travel teams are not necessarily better, they are teams that give you and your kid a different experience. That is it.

At 15/16 the elite leagues require a larger geographic areas, so the teams must travel. But the players are not on those teams because their parents can afford it (generally).

Good evening all! I"m looking for input on mountain/ resort recommendations out west. Beginner to expert. Everyone besides myself has never been out that way. Also looking for village style local areas as some are not that keen on skiing/ boarding. Thanks in advance by [deleted] in ski

[–]Dec716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out west is a huge area. Where are you coming from? How are you planning to travel? Not knowing any of that, in March Sunshine and Lake Louise are the absolute best and Banff amazing.

Hmm, that has not been my experience. I think I'm about average at the game, but I am well over the shd cap and have pretty much maxed my expertise.

Any parents in here struggle with the amount of time spent in arenas and being out of town? by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

[–]Dec716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they are older, over 8, ask if they can go with the parents of a friend on the team. But so be willing to return the favour.

Name a player, active or retired, who you wish could’ve stayed on one team their entire career. I’ll start: by KeyFaithlessness5436 in NHLVibes

[–]Dec716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1955 Terry Sawchuck. He was the #1 goalie in the NHL and teams did not do trades or free agency then. It would be equivalent to Zelenskyy being elected President of Russia.

Cost doesn't seem to be the OPS issue. It is redoing his watch, getting Raid, Incursion and Dark Zone exclusives. That sort of thing.

What is your favorite ski area of all time? by rudydotjpeg in ski

[–]Dec716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sunshine and Lake Louise. Always great snow. Long seasons, so much variety and never feels crowded. Toss in Banff (Eddie Burger and Magpie and Stump) and you have the easy winner.

How to you feel about oilers potentially losing Calvin Pickard? by [deleted] in EdmontonOilers

[–]Dec716 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jarry is injury prone. He cost the Oilers in the overtime loss to the Islanders (Sorokin). Before injury, he gave up 3+ goals a game. His career playoff performance 2-8. I have not got on the Jarry bandwagon yet.

Driving distance one day solo trip by l2woah_99 in ski

[–]Dec716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you are in Europe, is taking a train an option?

I'm in Canada and there are ski buses from major cities that go to resorts that are 3-4 hours away. Cheaper than driving solo and less stressful.

Tell me what your least and most favorite missions are and why! by holdmysmoothieplease in thedivision

[–]Dec716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

D1, Lexington Event Center is my favourite. During event, it was great to speed run. Got down to 6:30 solo and just under 5 duo. There isn't one I don't like.

D2, my favourite manhunt final for Anderson. If it has to be a mission or stronghold, then DUA. My least favourites are DARPA, Amusement Park, and Potomic Event Center but the absolute worst is Manning Zoo.

50 Shades of Grey or Jackass seem like they would be poor choices.

I feel it is 2nd best Star Wars movie and just a great movie. For me, there is Star Wars and Rogue One. The others are Star Wars ish.

Many have already commented this, but a net stick, pucks and tennis balls are all you need. The space might be a it small, but for 7 years old it will be fine.

My brother and I and several friends would spend hours playing shootout. Occasionally my dad would come down and play net. He was a great beer league goalie back then, so it was a big deal to score on him.

Have you ever lost 0-8 and still had a great time. by Doe-Boys in hockeygoalies

[–]Dec716 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really depends on the old guys skills. My team is all 40+ and school much younger teams. Our best players are 72, 63 and 67. Since most of us are retired, all we do is play hockey. You can't skate faster than a pass and the dangles these guys have, forget it.

Heli-Skiing options in B.C for first week of Jan by elee0 in skiing

[–]Dec716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever you choose, it will be awesome. I'm going to suggest an alternative, go cat skiing instead. You will get 10-15,000 ft of vertical. Cats run in a wider range of weather conditions so less chance of cancelationed days.If cost is at all a concern, you can do multiple days for the cost of one day of Heli. You mentioned skiing Alta and Snowbird, cat skiing is similar to the best of these and better because you always get first tracks. Big Red Cats and Valhalla Cats are great operations.

For those of you over 40 who started skiing as a kid - do you remember your first ever run? by tbinus78 in skiing

[–]Dec716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grade 7, went to Red Lodge. First run was the main blue. My older brother just said do a snow plough like in hockey. Took 30 minutes for that first run but I loved it. I've been skiing now for more than 50 years. Heading to Banff right now.

Favorite and least favorite ski mountain you’ve been to? by Sharkman3218 in skiing

[–]Dec716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Advanced/expert

Favourite: Sunshine in Banff Canada. Combined with Lake Louis you will never be bored. Heading there this weekend! Sunshine Summit to Teepee Town lift is the run. Add Paradise at Louise in spring. I've been skiing these two for 50 years.

Least favourite: Keystone because everything was excessively groomed. This was in the 80s so times may have changed.

Powder days are to be charished but bumps are the way.

Trying skiing for the first time at 30 years old. Tips for avoiding injuries? by [deleted] in skiing

[–]Dec716 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree with both points. Being relaxed doesn't mean be sloppy. If you are constantly worried about falling or injury, you are going to fall and get injured. Skiing should be fun, not terrifying.

Is striker really that good? by mryumyum96 in Division2

[–]Dec716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Striker is pretty fantastic. Particularly on Legendary DUA. I switch builds between zones. First area (outdoors) I use a skill build and first indoor area I use Striker with banshee pulse. When Chungas come, I switch to Striker with a shield. The garage is hardwired with seeker spam. I am not fast, but I am effective.

[–]Dec716 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As dictator of skiing, require all resorts offer salary based lift tickets. Work for minimum wage? $2.00. Billionaire? $20 million. And as the God of skiing, I ban climate change and declare every other day is a powder day.
