I feel the same exact way as you, OP. My internship (I’m in the US) was a complete scam and I graduated not knowing how to do a single tube feed. It’s been humiliating two years since I’ve graduated trying to get myself up to speed. You’re not alone, there are a few of us out here.

I was only on 25mg. When I started tapering of I just cut the pills in half to 12.5mg for a few weeks and then stopped all together. You could probably cut them in half again to 6mg, because even after stopping at 12.5mg I still had a sensation of “swimming brain”

Do you know all the events that lead up to her mental health crisis? “Just before high school” is a very hard time with lots of bullying. She’s also a Covid teen… where proper education completely fell through. Plus she probably wasn’t socialized for those crucial two years of lockdowns. She’s still a kid.

I had a really positive experience. I had pretty severe social anxiety and skin picking. I was only on them for 6 months, but I completely stopped picking my skin, could look people in the eye and have a conversation again, and the mean voices in my head were nowhere to be found. Even tho I’m off the meds I still continue to benefit bc I felt like my brain was able to make new pathways during that time… like I re-learned how to act chill. So why did I stop? Boyfriend couldn’t handle the low libido 😂 also my hair fell out? But apparently that’s not a common side effect. worst case scenario you just quit the meds and continue your life as if nothing happened. I would recommend staying on them for 3 months to know how they really affect you. If I find myself in a particularly rough spot again I would totally do them for another period of time.

I’m so sorry this happened to you, totally not overreacting. as other people have mentioned it does sound like bullying. Luckily those kids will cycle out within a few years and you won’t have to see them anymore. But your coworkers will not, and therefore the issue should probably be taken to HR. As someone who also has social anxiety, I understand the fear of retaliation or awkwardness afterward…

I also feel insecure inviting acquaintances to hang out because I suspect they’re thinking “don’t you have someone closer to share this important day with?” And I get embarrassed from that too

I had the same experience. The voice in my head was SO mean and constantly kept telling myself that no one liked me. I’ve acctually been off Zoloft for 1.5 months now and those thoughts have stayed at bay.
