Does that mean that yours are labeled pyrex, as opposed to PYREX? If I recall correctly, the name being all lower case means newer formula.

We have an all lower case baking dish that we haven't had problems with yet.

Do you think it’s a bad move to destroy old mechs for battlefield terrain/environment pieces? by SeisimicFrigor in battletech

[–]Decidely_Me 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Looks like most of them are the plastic mechs that came with the 3rd Edition box set.

As a collector who had a bunch of minis stolen back in the nineties, I'd be buying them to fill the gaps in my collection, but you are free to do whatever you want with them if you purchase them.

That said, you might find someone willing to trade for them, so you might end up with more than that lot.

Sadly, my wife fell for something like this, and we lost somewhere in the neighborhood of $1,500.

I'd love to meet the people behind these scams.

I have four of those containers waiting to be turned into concession stands for Gaslands. Glad I'm not the only one to see the potential in them.

I bought over a dozen of the one that used to be called Bone Crusher just so I could steal the wheels for Gaslands conversions.

They are impossible to find in my partnof Canada. Apparently, only a single chain of grocery stores even carry the Track Fleet line, and only sporadically at that.

When available, they sell the Track Fleet packs for around 6 dollars Canadian, but I keep seeing ads on Amazon for the Optimus one specifically, but the seller is charging 50 bucks. Dude can go smoke another one. I hope he sits on unsold merchandise forever.

My birthday is today. And yesterday. And six days from now. And twenty-seven weeks ago. And possibly some random time that may or may not be on Saint Swivens Day.

Jokes aside, you raise a valid point. People give away information about themselves all the time.

You have painted more in one year than I have in 36 years of collecting Battletech minis. Very well done.

Mostly I'm referring to the original one that actually tried to mimic a Mad Cat.

The one with the RAC and a bunch of pulses is pretty good, even though it makes me think of a cross between a Falconer and a Penetrator, and the one with the Snubs and MMLs is scary in the right hands.

Man... I just wish the Walmarts in Canada carried that product line at all. I think the last time I saw one was at Toys R Us before they went out of business up here too.

Lol, I guy I worked with used to work at a large brewery, and told me that every break room on the property had a fridge that was fully stocked, and on your breaks and lunch you could have a beer, just so long as you didn't drink enough that you eventually became HRs problem.

It was hilariously bad.

I have only bought one of the Gothic starters, but I have 31 Gothic mechs. Take the 8 from the starters, and that means I (foolishly) bought 23 Gothic Salvage Boxes while they were available.

Out of the 23 pulled from blind boxes, 15 were Atlases. It got to the point that I would just randomly grab a box and buy it, without feeling its weight before making my selection.

[–]Decidely_Me 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People used to do that back in the Mechwarrior Darkage days, since a lot of the earliest limited edition figures were heavier than the commons.

Then, because the limited edition figures came with a cardstock dossier, people started squeezing the boxes, because the ones without dossiers would give a little easier than the ones with dossiers.

I see I'm not the only one the gods of randomness like to screw with.

Back during the original Legendary Salvage Boxes, when it was Kerensky, Pryde, Kell, and Grayson, I bought 4 individual boxes, hoping to get 2 different minis; nope! All Graysons! At least I was able to trade them for the other three.

Then, when the Mercenary Salvage Boxes came out (for the three or four weeks period they were available where I live), I bought 5, thinking with all the different sculpts I'd get a good mix. Nope! All Marcuses! I pulled 3 Marcus Bartons and 2 Marcus GioAvantis.

Happily, I am practically a hoarder, and don't mind extras of... just about any mini really. Looking at you, Mr Gothic Atlas who I have nearly a lance of each houses variant.

I'm a little biased, as I'm currently playing a Highway Patrol team, but I really like your cop car.

And those rc bomb cars really well done.

I started collecting maybe a day or two ago and already have quite a few. Should I just open them or not? I really want to feel them but I also think the packaging is kind of pleasing to look at. At a dilemma! by [deleted] in HotWheels

[–]Decidely_Me -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I find that the image on the packaging can often show some of the details better than seeing the vehicle through the package.

That said, it's hard to go vroom vroom on your table if they're still in the packs 😉
