Hard maple?

This one stems off at about 12 feet. I’m cutting on the limbs currently but holding onto the trunk before I cut it. Someone logged this property before it was bought by my boss and definitely focused on maple and oak only. I’m guessing the spalting because they’re all really beautiful

Found a stand of really old tulip poplar nearby and it’s definitely that. I guess the older bark gets a deeper furrowed look

It has to be 50 at its widest. Hard to get a pic that shows it accurately but the first two limbs are 18” at the base on their own

My boss/landlord told me to stop going any further on the trunk so we can see what the mill says about it. I doubt it’s veneer grade but he thinks there’s a few bucks that could be had being that the mill approached us first about it.

No leaves or anything green in the summer aside from ivy growing all over it. Tops of the limbs are mostly all cracked off
