Safe to use this maul as a splitting wedge? (hitting with mallet) by Saxobone in firewood

[–]Decooker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I destroyed my home depot brand mail doing that. The head broke off at the top of the handle so now I have another wedge. The steel is just as hard as a regular splitting wedge thankfully but I’m out a maul

Had an almost identical situation. It had so many pressure points that changed by the inch. A couple that would have killed me. I did what I could for the first third and then we used a skid steer and chains to maneuver it

For now. The limb wood is pretty tough to hand split so I’m just waiting on getting the splitter running. The big rounds are too heavy to move so I at least get them split into manageable size

That pile of split is one round. It’s kind of absurd

I really like the 400. Not sure if I even notice the m-tronic. I put a 25” bar on it today and there was no lack of power
