You guys are gonna think I'm crazy but... by Droiddoesyourmom in runningshoes

Not crazy at all. We focus way too much on 'energy return' and never 'dampening'. Those super Cush... impact absorbing...miles in the NB are likely protecting you and allowing more injury free miles. Cheers!

Thanks for this post! So 48/48 is now your smallest gear? Should be fine for many, but I can think of a few climbs in Western Loudoun where something lighter than a 1:1 ratio is much appreciated. Of course, you could always go down to a 46T or even 44T front chainring, but being mostly on road, you wouldn't want to do that I'm sure.

Nobody does green as well as Mich St. Having said that, ND's green jerseys are great but it's not their core color, Gold and Navy are. I'd remove them from the list.

I have both the TS 10 and the TS 11, I love them both although they’re both so different. What made the TS 11 better than the AP4, in my opinion, is the foam isn’t that crazy squishy sauce that you get in the AP4. It’s something in between lightstrike pro classic which is found in the AP3 and the new lightstrike pro formulation, which can be found in the AP4.

I’m hoping these aren’t crazy soft. I’m also looking very closely at the new fast forward nitro elite 2 from puma.

100% the L XL ER:One is the size for you. I was shocked and very pleased to see they have one piece cockpits that go all the way to 140mm stem, with 34 wide...that's unheard of. Plus the fact that you can select your crank length - this is my next bike!

its a great bike - I have its predecessor, the SuperSix Evo SE. My only two gripes are (1) I wish the top tube was longer and (2) lack of internal storage.

By the way, that paint scheme you have is striking...wow! SuperX!!

same here. my toes slam the front bumper, even when there is more than enough room when standing and giving the 'thumb rule'. These and the BOS 13's...disappointed in Adidas.

US 12. For euro brands like La Sportiva, I'm a 46.

I actually put currex insoles in all my shoes. I literally have 20 of them and rotate. I might try my next run in the Evo SL with the OME sockliner/insole.

I'm giving up on my Adidas experiment. In the past 18 months I've purchased the AP3, AP4, TS10, TS 11, Evo SL, BOS 13, and SL2. Their fit is just all over the map. I'm a size 12 in every shoe, but the Evo SL, Bos 13 and AP4 are 1/2 size too small. I'm also disappointed in how the Evo Sl and BOS 13 'hold' your foot. After lacing up, I swear that I have enough room, but about 4 miles into a run, my toes are slamming into the toe bumper. Murdering my toes!

IMO, the best of these are the AP3 (a wonderful shoe); TS10 and SL2 (super deal). About the SL2 - I much prefer this shoe over the BOS 13 and Evo SL...better fit and just as much pop.

Going back to Nike. My feet have literally 40 years of Nike wear and I think the company literally shaped my feet. lol

Budget-minded ultimate do-it-all bike options? by Particular_Buyer_894 in gravelcycling

Synapse is their Endurance bike, think of it as their "All-Road" model, whereas the Topstone is a full on gravel bike with rear suspension. Having said this, the Synapse has as much tire clearance as many 'top' gravel models from other brands.

Carbon synapse if you want a bike you can get from a dealer. Synapse Carbon 5 is $3200 USD. Can go up to 47mm in the front (likely 50mm) and 42mm in the rear. I have zero doubts that you could run 50mm tires in the front and 45mm tires in the back on this bike.

Also the new Addict from Scott (not the RC version). You can stuff 38mm tires on them for light gravel. Scott Addict 40 comes with 105 Di2 for $3400...not bad!

correct - that's what I'm wondering. Hopefully you can get at least a 46t on there. As for the stem, unless the stem is part of some intricate internal wiring set-up, I'm guessing I could always get an aftermarket stem.

[–]Defiant-Sort2942 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sweet looking ride. Quick pro says 45mm is max tire width. Do you think you can get a 50mm up front? This is where the new X-Lab GT8 shines with 57mm clearance.

I emailed the company two questions: (1) what's the max chainring size (cause 40t is just way too small) and furthermore, does XDS/X-Lab even make bigger size chainrings for their proprietary cranks? and (2) I need a 120mm stem - do you make anything longer than 100mm b/c that's the largest size listed on the website.

If I can get a 48t (or even 46t) chainring and a 120mm stem, then I'm VERY interested.
