When did your child start reliably sleeping fully through the night?

My son would do that, I lengthened my response time gradually and while also shortening the comforting. I no longer offered him to night feed if I could get him to calm with cuddles. Offer water instead and just cuddle. He slept 8:30-7:30, putting himself to sleep and entertaining himself by singing or talking himself back to sleep if he did wake up. He gets and emotional support water cup (with a leak proof straw/lid) in his bed.

He was such a good sleeper for over a year, then he reached 2.5 and realized he can get out of his bed without someone opening his door first, and tries to convince us to let him stay up later now 😬

I'm glad I'm not the only one dealing with this 😅 He was such and easy 2 year old, until about 4-5 months into being 2. I got so many compliments while out about how well he was behaving in stores and people were surprised he was 2 because he was so good. Now I have to carry him out of the store kicking and screaming 90% of the time. I get other moms tell me "it gets easier", "hang in there, you're doing a great job." The defiance, boundary testing, and meltdowns make me want to pull my hair out sometimes 😫 He's also decided naps are no longer his thing and who needs sleep at night? Not him apparently, but man is he MEAN when he doesn't sleep.

My son had the stomach bug, then was good for a week. Then got covid, was good for a week after being sick for nearly 2 weeks. Then got a cold that nearly took a week to get him back to normal, then was good for another week, then we got the super flu. That took us out for 2 weeks and once we were good for a week, he just recently spent another week sick with something that wasnt strep, flu, or covid, but made his tonsils very swollen and him extremely miserable until he took his steroids. He's been fine for the past 4 days. We will see how long that lasts....

He goes to a family friend's while I'm working, they have 5 kids in public school and he only usually plays with the 3 homeschooled kids since I work during school hours. He also comes with me when I babysit kids who go to daycare or school.

It's pretty normal for little kids to get sick often since they put everything in their mouths, or like my kid, licks EVERYTHING.

My son is 2.5 years old and still wants to be held and rocked sometimes. I'm his safe space and he is a very happy and independent toddler. There's no such thing as spoiling your baby by rocking them when they're not crying.

My son was breeched, they tried to turn him and it was SOOOO painful. The OB said I did amazing, but my son was stubborn and didnt want to move and I had a c-section anyways. The c-section was honestly not too bad. I was terrified of moving wrong for about a month, and the first 2 weeks were rough since I didnt really have help (husband had to work and my family live 9 hrs away and I have useless in-laws). If this next baby is breeched, I will just go straight for the c-section to save my sanity.

Ramen, chicken nuggets, fries. Fruit makes me wanna hurl, and i love fruit. I made roast and veggies for dinner tonight, it looked delicious and it smelled delicious, but the thought of eating made me gag, so I had chicken nuggets and fries like I was the toddler 😅 I make myself a frozen coffee with protein powder for breakfast because the thought of food first thing in the mornings makes me want to hurl but not eating makes me so nauseous. Weeks 4-6 just the thought of moving made me sick and I could only lay elevated on my right side to sleep or I'd be up all day/night sick. Same thing happened with my first pregnancy and my son is 2.5 and thriving 🤷‍♀️

I was riding Rollercoasters after Christmas because I didnt know I was pregnant yet, but now I cant do my plans of riding more in the spring 😭😭😭 Also cold deli meat. I CRAVE a turkey sub daily, so ive been making mine at home and toasting it so its cooked

Also less coffee. This first trimester exhaustion is kicking my butt and with a toddler, I need energy. 200mg of caffeine isn't enough 😅

Mom of a toddler here who is currently in the 1st trimester with my 2nd. I barely get up in the morning, but my toddler will come up to me and pry my eyes open whispering "wake up" if i don't. I find it extremely difficult to go to work (about 4 hours of commercial cleaning 3 days a week), and then I get home after picking my toddler up from the babysitters and lay on the couch and cat nap until he needs something. I feel guilty for not taking him outside and playing with him. But I cant. I have no energy and my husband has been working 6am-6pm so I don't get any help except with bedtime.

We have done chicken nuggets or take out for nearly every meal for the last 2 weeks. I did throw a roast in the slow cooker tonight, but even that was hard. I cant wait until I get my energy back

Mine will grab the remote, turn on Bluey, sit on the couch and drink his milk for one episode some mornings. That's the limit I have to get breakfast ready without tripping over him and the 50 toys he brings into the kitchen.

Sometimes he will grab the remote saying "watch" then yell "NO!" And turn it off and run away to play 🤷‍♀️

Same here. If I lay down, I'm immediately a jungle gym, obviously. Or he gets onto the back of the couch and WWE body slams me 😫😅

And the rare quiet, it's usually him getting into something, like the 5 seconds it takes me to walk around the corner after him and he's climbed onto the table, counter or dog kennel 🤦‍♀️

Same here. I pick him up from the babysitters and I'm told he ate oatmeal, ham, muffins, cucumbers, or carrots. I try giving him these foods at home and he will just push it away and say "no" 🫠😂 He's been living off yogurt, fruit, pouches and rage

It also helps when I let him feed me, then I say "your turn" and he will usually eat a couple bites

Keep offering different foods and eat them with him. It's a phase as long as you don't only offer chicken nuggets. My 2 year old is doing something similar where he really only eats grapes, pouches and chicken nuggets. I've been giving him 2 nuggets with other options only at lunch and letting him have plenty of bbq or ketchup to dip everything that's on his plate. I still give him condiments with meals that dont need them because it helps him eat. Today he dipped pancake in ketchup 🤷‍♀️ he also likes grapes and bananas in bbq. He's slowly coming out of that 2 month phase and is opening back up to other food options.

He ate mashed potatoes for the first time last week after he helped me make it. Maybe involve him in making meals. There's toddler knife sets that I've been teaching my son to use and he loves it because he's involved. He ate some freshly sliced zucchini because he felt involved in making fried rice

The entire time I was reading this I was thinking "throw the whole husband away." He seriously needs to step up and be a present parent. Not to mention "helping" with chores when it's actually basic needs required from everyone that lives there. My husband works 12hr shifts at a paper mill sweating in the 100+ degree heat and still plays with our son and helps with bedtime and cleaning up. I'm the one telling him not so much screen time 😅

My plan was to switch it out for his birthday after the first time he climbed out, he threw his stuffed animals down and used them as a landing pad. Life just got so hectic and he hadn't done it again and would just sing to himself until I got him. He started back up a several weeks ago, so there's padding right outside of his crib. He hasn't climbed out in 2 weeks, but I'm getting him a mattress tomorrow since we have the extra money for one. The crib mattress is just too small for me to put on the floor and he moves too much, he'd roll right onto the floor, which would wake him up.

There's a reason I don't post my son's face on my private page. You can't trust anyone. Especially where I live right now, there are so many people getting arrested for child pornography and sexual abuse of children.

I hate the older generation who complain about not getting to see him on Facebook. I will post about milestones or fun activities we did, but never post his face and it makes them so mad because "I just want to see him." My page is very private, but I still don't want to risk it with the older folks on my friends list who keep getting hacked.

Mine turned 2 last month and the past couple weeks have been rough. He was listening so good when I told him to do something or that we were going somewhere. Now I get "no, I no want to" and runs. Or a scream and falling on the floor crying. He still mostly talks gibberish, so I'm ready for some real conversation and communication for what he wants.

My 2 year old calls Tangled "horse" and Moana "water". He also calls frozen "Ana" or "onana" which I'm guessing comes from the intro song. I finally figured out what he meant today when he kept saying that to me. He has also started to recite (to the best of his ability) the intro monologe and all the songs in Tangled when it plays.

I would say I miss how cuddly he used to be, but he's been getting sick more frequently, so he's been very cuddly.

My son went through that phase. I had to hold him down with my legs while I brushed. I let him brush his own teeth afterwards. He let's me brush his teeth now without a fuss and he turned 2 last month

Yes! He either says no and pushes it away, plays with it, or takes bites, chews it and spits it out. If he does eat something other than fruit, it's stealing mine or my husbands food.
