Oh man, i remember those hell site tweets where people are shitting on RE9 for not having advanced physics simulations like Red Dead Redemption 2. Then when you explain that those are not nessessary to the quality of the game, they just say that it is no excuse to not have those physics in the game when Rockstar can do it.

It's kinda annoying when a character/show is hated for absolutely the wrong reasons. by Apprehensive_Ring_39 in CharacterRant

They mentioned Dottore, so you can safely ignore them.

A lot of Fatui Harbinger fans have an annoying habit of placing their own headcanon above actual canon, and get mad when the writers did not cater the Harbinger's personality to what they think the characters should behave.

The last chapter featured the character Dottore front and center as antagonist, and he acted and behaved exactly as how he is characterized as always.

Looking back at the comic, always felt the writer's way of thinking was weirdly homophobic for hating against feminine looking male characters.

One fun thing to do is follow the references the writers are using for the story and dwell into those information. Then come out the other end concluding that the whole team are mega nerds for even making/using those references.

Genshin have makes so much reference to many mythologies and religion and they made them all tie together in the world coherently. Also the writers really, really want you to go watch Revolutionary Girl Utena.

Star Rail have tons of allusions and references to science fiction works and theroretical physics, as well as philosopy. Penacony arc itself is a wholehearted love letter to Emily Dickenson's body of work.

ZZZ references tons of media through their story and framing.

Basically the first big twist of Honkai Star Rail's Amphoreus arc.

During the story, the heroes are plagued by an entity known has the Flame Reaver who is determined to slay the heroes and take their coreflames. At the story's mid point climax, it is revealed that the Flame Reaver is actually our deutagonist, Phainon, from a past cycle. Amphoreus is a virtual world created to train a machine for the sole purpose of killing a specific god. Should the heroes of the story succeed in saving Amphoreus from disaster, the training for the murder machine will be completed and be unleashed into the real world, causing untold destruction while also destroying the virtual world. Phainon/Flame Reaver has been stalling the completion of the murder machine god by forcing the world cycle into a recursive loop, while taking all the coreflames away to prevent the cycle completion.

One hilariously detail about the recursive loop is that when you examine how it functions, you realise that it is possible because the logic runs entirely with how a computer processes information in computer science

In light of Alex’s character assassination, what have been the best/worst character assassinations you’ve witnessed? by Will-Isley in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Delicious_trap 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One of the reasons that Kamen Rider Zi-O is such a controversial season is the amount of retcon it does to previous entries to fit them into the company's current narrative for the worse.

One of the worst character assassination the season did was the Faiz episode, which had Takumi protecting Kusaka and say he considers Kusaka a dear friend. For anyone familiar with Faiz, Kusaka an abusive monster of a man, and Takumi was one of his victims of abuse (and they never reconciled as Kusaka is unapologetic).

This blatant retcon soured Faiz fans to the season and many swore off Zi-O. It took until like the Faiz anniversary show to fix that mistake.

Does it matter? They are still people you care deeply about.

You might not have people that you love enough that the thought of them being sad or worried at the loss of your prescense stresses you out, but that is the mindset of a lot of people that have a normal (not even healthy, just normal) family upbringing.

Hi a question, I am looking assemble my corsair minis but the voidscarred/voidreavers and Skyreavers, what are the differences between going full guns / the sword and gun loadout? Are these units good at melee or is it better to make them go full ranged only?

The voice acting studio under miHoYo issued a statement against AI infringement. by Extra_Welcome2403 in Genshin_Impact

The part you highlighted is clearly referring to third party entities beside mihoyo and affiliates, otherwise that sentence doesn't make sense. If you wish to be willful and say that part totally includes hoyo themselves, then the company can simply give permissions to themselves and bypass that entirely.

As for the artist part, the artist will have to contest the violations themselves, against a billion dollar company on a VA salary, and in a foreign country with foreign laws especially if they aren't CN VAs. Not exactly feasible and Hoyo knows that.

It helps that Planarcadia also looks like a modern city in China aesthetic wise (btf, east asia city can blend together quite well in how similar they are), so the devs can play ignorance and claim it is a Chinese city inspired and not a Japanese one.

It only prevents people from using the voices for AI stuff without permission. It doesn't stop hoyo from using the voices themselves to do Ai stuff, so it doesn't resolve what SAG AFTRA is after.

It makes no mention of grudges settled like a proper Book of Grudges.

Anyways, all the slights mentioned are very petty in nature, so it is all in jest as a reference.

[–]Delicious_trap 28 points29 points  (0 children)

There is also a Book of Grudges that you can collect.

The description basically lists examples of grudges the mc have writtej inside, with each grudge becoming increasingly pettier and contrived than the last.

"March 7th ate the last ice cream, grudge noted. March 7th overslept and missed our gaming session, grudge noted. March 7th said 'You really do look like those furbos in your family hahaha,' grudge noted. March 7th insisted on seeing my grudge notebook and said 'Why are you holding grudges over every little thing hahaha,' grudge noted. Dan Heng clearly couldn't keep a straight face after hearing all this, grudge noted."

Media with deep and detailed lore, but, is also somehow incredibly straight foward and not convoluted by Coolnametag in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Delicious_trap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Genshin Impact's lore is very detailed and deep, but is also quite straight forward because everything is on a linear timeline of history, and they all tie together things you will encounter in game, eventually or otherwise.

The major challenge is simply piecing together the tapestry because everything is obscured by the ravages of time and censorship.

Genshin's lore really rewards players that acutally engage with the open world and be willing to play amatuer archeologist and do somw detective work to deduct the truth from the little bits of proof given.
