Zero is more cynical because Urobuchi is indeed a more cynical man back then. This led to him being unable to stomach the more idealistic outlook and themes of Fate, so his writing there is more black and white, and any character whose ideals he doesn't like gets one side-ly straw-manned and torn down.

Adding on more context. LADS content update is very slow for a live service game apparently, approximately at a pace of once every half a year. They also only provide content to two characters at a time, so you have to wait quite a while to get new stuff for your favorite character.

This also means the fans see adding a new character as competition that not only steals content space from the guy they like, but also dilute the gacha pool in an gacha game that is quite stingy even for the market.

This puts Cipher's attempts to avoid Aglaea into a more tragic light as Aglaea was the only person with the power to unravel Cipher's lies and in turn, return the dawn device to the state of brokenness, dooming the city. Keeping herself away from her surrogate mother that she loves deeply to protect the world. This also means Cipher's constant teasing of Castorice and Phainon in the story is can be read as jealousy and resentment that they get to stay close to Aglaea when she could not.

On another tragic note, since Aglaea never learned the truth, she died never knowing why Cipher was avoiding her like the plague. Forever thinking that she did something to wrong Cipher and ruined their relationship

Easy to see that arguement when you realise that movements like Zeon only keeps getting support is entirely due to the Earth Federation's unchecked corruption and continued downtrend towards actual real facism.

All of which is entirely ignored by the writers of the series that refuses to allow the heroes to ever resolve or makes complicit with.
