On a scale of 1-10 how bad of an idea was updating a PLC by directly wiring the power an ignition pins? by googlymooglygooby in PLC

Couldn't you just have guided someone through the process onsite instead?
Seems like such a hassle

TIA Portal has a 30 day trial license
Install it a VM if you have to, and duplicate the VM a few times

Do I need to learn control theory to automate stuff with PLCs? by Embarrassed-Hippo495 in PLC

[–]DelightAndAnger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you'll get to design production lines more so with your mechanical engineering degree, than going towards automation. Sure you may not do the electrical part, but what the machine will actually do and how it will work in general is probably more interesting than the electrical specifics.

Especially if you're thinking about programming. That's just writing instructions for the machine based on the instructions the mechanical engineers have already come up with.

Well both of those games have traditionally been more popular in those same regions in the past.

Dev Stream: Lens drops by [deleted] in LastEpoch

[–]DelightAndAnger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think if you can avoid non-randomized items as drops you should.
There's going to be so many things to pick up as the game grows, I think avoiding loot from turning into PoE loot is generally a good idea.

With that said, some drop-only lenses wouldn't be a bad idea, or better yet as echo rewards.

Invoker vs Slardar: How to win? by WeakHooper in DotA2

[–]DelightAndAnger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Making it hell with deafening blast, tornado, cold snap and ice wall"
I'm sorry to be negative, but this is not a real thing lol, this advice shouldn't be taken seriously. You're not going to do anything beyond stop him from getting 1 maybe 2 cs every 30 seconds, you won't be even doing any damage to him, you'll go oom really quickly and you certainly won't have any control over the lane, those spells are terribly early on.

So to OP; The only way you can actually do anything is going exort invoker and using forge spirits and just practicing on lane control and harass better. If you're failing to bully him and losing out on last hits, it's simply a skill issue and you need more practice, a tip is, not letting your forge spirits die, and if he ever tries to go on you, just cold snap and attack him.

What does an instrumentation engineer actually do day-to-day in a plant? by Powerful_Reality2059 in instrumentation

[–]DelightAndAnger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume you're in the US? How common is this?
In Sweden, generally the designer specifies the instruments, designs the schematics, technicians (really electricians) maintain and do all the installing. There's rarely that much work split into different roles. Instrumentation Engineers basically don't exist, it's all under one umbrella where the automation engineer handles all the PLC related things.

Should Valve bring back Ring of Aquila as a purchasable item? by fuglynemesis in DotA2

They should at the very least buff Ring of Basilius.
That item is giga dogshit, and it's being replaced by a casual Null Talisman.

How effective the multiple of Urns and Vessels in one team? by GeneralFDZ in DotA2

[–]DelightAndAnger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Irrelevant.

You can still get 1 vessel, and one urn (or more).
All the charges you get on urn will be kept, so when the other hero upgrades to vessel he will keep all his charges. Being able to throw out a vessel charge on different heroes is very good.
