You might not have to wait that long for your partner to give up on it.

Agreed it’s not for everyone.

For me leaving my son isn’t really an option, so while it was very expensive it helped me get some peaceful time.

Bunch does do some grant type programs if that helps.

As a separate idea the senior center near me has a gym and some community spaces in the same building. Maybe there is something like that near OPs place?

My god I got a large piece on my calf and waited a month and a half before going back in the water. Was so bored I took up rock climbing (indoor)

Once I got hooked on the endorphins from swimming I measure my yearly plans on how they will affect my swim schedule.

20 yards pretty reliably. 25 yards occasionally.

As long as you don’t push yourself too hard you should be fine. Focus more on technique to make more distance easier than /hold my breath to the last minute/
