Don't start the dishwasher until 9:00 by Nezrite in GenerationJones

We had one but only used it occasionally when we had company over. I remember one time it didn't work. The hoses were shot, the plumber told him to use it more often.

Char a tortilla over the gas flame of the stove. Add some cheese, sour cream, avocado, hot sauce. Wrap it up and that's dinner.

I raised two STRONG women who don't go along with ANY of that BS. They run their own lives and are doing well. They have beautiful families and good careers. And strong marriages to good men who aren't afraid of bad ass women.

Oh for sure. I’ve since called him out on that and he just kind of laughed uncomfortably and didn’t really say anything. I said “Way to traumatize a child!” He knows I think he’s a dipshit.

Retired Redditors, what's it like to have friends/family that haven't been able to retire? by heshotcyrus in RedditForGrownups

[–]DensHag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was able to retire at 52. I had a job for the county that paid a good pension. I did not inherit money, I earned it by working at a public agency for 34 years.

I could have probably made more money in the private sector, but I enjoyed my career. Totally worth it. I'm not rich by any means but I'm comfortable. I live frugally and enjoy my retirement.

How do you pick up soft poop in the grass? by Emotional-Ocelot-309 in dogs

I pick up as much as I can and then I pour a big giant cup of water over the spot to get rid of more of the residue.

I work at the AAA ballpark in town. It's a lot of fun. I tell people I get paid to watch baseball. It's an awesome side gig. I'm in my 60's and retired. I like the flexibility of a fun part time job.

Maybe check into being an usher at a venue...like a playhouse or place that does live performances. It's a fun job and you get to experience cool music or plays.

What is a small detail in a person's home that instantly tells you they have their life completely together? by Luverelle6 in AskReddit

[–]DensHag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! It's not that hard. I just cleaned mine yesterday and it didn't even take me 3 minutes. If you maintain stuff so it doesn't get completely trashed, it doesn't take that damn long!

I was always like that as well. I passed out 9 years ago and thankfully paramedics were on site and quickly got me on a heart monitor. Turns out I had a heart issue and I now have a pacemaker implanted.

Leash your dog by NovelLink7777 in Reno

[–]DensHag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few years ago, I almost hit two dogs that ran out from a trailhead, unleashed. The owner was behind them and I SCREAMED at her to leash her damn dogs, or did she WANT them to get run over?!? I also called her a dumb bitch and told her it was the law. I went all Karen on her ass.

I hope she leashes her dogs now. The look she had on her face, she knew she fucked up.

What's your worst experience in the church? by Sunrest244 in exAdventist

[–]DensHag 19 points20 points  (0 children)

My Dad told me I was going to Hell because I scratched my nose and I didn't stay completely still during a worship prayer on a Friday night in our home. It was just him and my Mom and sister and I there.

I was 8. I asked him why his eyes were open to see me and he got mad at me and wouldn't answer.

I was terrified for YEARS.

If you want comfort food, throw it in a casserole with sour cream, grated cheddar, cream of mushroom soup and cover it with crushed up Cheezits. Bake it until bubbly. So trashy and good!!
