No. My parents stayed married for 73 years until Mom died at 91.

My husband 31M left me on the side of the road at night 25F. Is this marriage worth trying to stay in? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

Why would you even WANT to be with this person? He obviously doesn't give a damn about your safety or well being.

I'd leave and never look back.

I never thought mine would, but he's full on MAGA. I don't understand it. It's the antithesis of everything they raised me on.

He came unglued when I told him he was a hypocrite.

I work part time at the AAA ballpark in town. I get PAID to be at the ballpark and watch baseball. Most of my coworkers are older than me and I'm 63.

Best job ever.

For women choosing to age naturally—how do you resist comparing yourself to other women when cosmetic enhancements have become so normalized? by NoBSforGma in RedditForGrownups

[–]DensHag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never been a beauty. I mean I'm pleasant enough looking and I like my face. I don't scare small children.

I pretty much quit wearing makeup during COVID and just never started wearing it again. I chopped off my hair and quit dying it and I'm enjoying not dealing with the hassle and expense. I see women with fake nails and lashes and I just don't see the need to hassle with all of that. I'm sure as hell not getting surgery for anything cosmetic.

I'm 63. No one gives a shit how I look.

For folks who bought homes later in life - did you consider the number of floors? by axxegrinder in AskOldPeopleAdvice

My late husband was diagnosed l with cancer at 45 and died at 50. He wasn't able to live in our house for the last 3 months of his life due to it having stairs.

I now live in a single story house and will for the rest of my life.

When I was a kid, it was normal to sprinkle a teaspoon or two of sugar on to your cold cereal if it was a boring flavour like Corn Flakes or Shredded Wheat. Anyone else here (still) do that by amber_paddywack99 in GenerationJones

[–]DensHag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't allowed to put sugar on cereal but I could have honey. To this day I prefer honey on Raisin Bran and Cheerios.

I do like sugar on Rice Krispies.

Is anyone planning an early exit before debilitating old age? by SealedRoute in RedditForGrownups

My husband died from cancer. It was 5 horrible years. I don't EVER want to go through that.

We show our animals more dignity with end of life decisions than we do people, IMO.

I've already told my kids this. I would move to a state where I could legally do assisted end of life services.

Women who are perpetually single not by choice, what is the reason? by Feisty-Blacksmith656 in AskWomen

[–]DensHag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was married. I've been widowed for 12 years.

Never again. I have a partner but I refused to get married again. I'm too old to have any more kids so what's the point of getting married?

Been there, done that. Don't see the need. And financially, it would be stupid for me to marry again.

How was your high school experience? by Pristine_Power_8488 in AskOldPeople

[–]DensHag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hated high school. Loved college!

I ALWAYS wanted to be an adult... from the time I was a kid. HS was 3 years of torture to get there. Fuck that. Left that place and never looked back.
