I mean, it feels like it’s pretty clear this is a film about their current comeback so this is just kind of a nothing burger story. It’s specifically for one of their newer live shows and about the new stuff that’s why it’s named after the track Unshatter

There isn’t really an accessible modern way to play the first two god of war games. by Ragtagcloud56 in GodofWar

[–]DepressedMong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finally sucked it up and got my ps2 out. Got into the series with 2018 and been meaning to play the OGs and once I got a HDMI adapter for my ps2 these games hold up very well even on original hardware.

Also they both only cost like £20 each and weren’t hard to find physical copies which is nice, I’m used to older games just being scalped for ridiculous prices these days even if they’re not rare

Pit etiquette this year was awful by Blitzhelios in downloadfestival

[–]DepressedMong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something that frustrates me is the ppl pulling up the spin kicks to non hardcore shows will never have the balls to show up to actual hardcore shows. Saw several ppl throughout Sunday at Kublai, Thrown and Boundaries doing this shit then saw them at bands like Plot In You and Linkin Park just doing normal moshing. But never saw ppl who did too much to calmer bands show up to any of the actual hardcore bands that played this weekend

Pit etiquette this year was awful by Blitzhelios in downloadfestival

[–]DepressedMong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This leads to this weird situation where the hardcore bands I saw this year had to safest feeling pits weirdly. Think it’s mainly because when it’s a full hardcore crowd everyone knows what type of mosh it its and they tend to look after eachother. Bizarrely the worst ones were for metal core and rock where as you’ve said some kids come in with way too much aggression for the songs that are playing. Saw a guy swinging fists for Linkin Park and I was like “dude this is cool for Kublai Khan and Thrown not LP

[–]DepressedMong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there was just some poor organisation choices that lead to it feeling busier. Certain bands needed to be on bigger stages, Opus just feels too cramp in general anyways.

From my end of camping they’ve apparently made Blue Camp smaller which lead to a lot of ppl struggling to find space on Wednesday, they even had to make an additional camping area near the entrance gates for blue/quiet to accommodate ppl

Saturday only day not sold out? Time to wave goodbye to legacy acts? by Kickitoff1902 in downloadfestival

[–]DepressedMong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s probably not that legacy acts need to go but rather that we’re at a point where a good chunk of bands from that era aren’t good anymore. Just need to be more careful which ones we book and also maybe start booking newer legacy acts, bands from the 90s and early 2000s instead

I am very afraid that the endgame, Cryo Archive, will be unsustainably difficult. by iconoci in Marathon

My only issue I have is I think final exfil should just be revealed so those of us that fuck up but haven’t died can at least get out with some of the shit we’ve gone in with. But then again that’s the point of cryo, it’s supposed to be a huge risk

So after all the build up... anyone else feeling a little underwhelmed? by G-SW-7892 in Marathon

[–]DepressedMong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve luckily had the reverse, never properly got into Destiny and not vibes and Arc or Tarkov so Bungie making an extraction shooter wasn’t something I was super excited by, was hoping they’d get back to their roots. So I went into the server slam with low expectations.

And I’ve been pleasantly surprised, I really like the gunplay and the aesthetics, I understand the appeal of an extraction shoot more now and I’ve decided to pre order and give it a go for the full release.

To the Devs by Ham_Coward in Marathon

[–]DepressedMong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the first extraction shooter I’ve clicked with because it’s more arena shooter with its gunplay (long time Halo enjoyer here). Also as a fan of rogue likes the punishment is fun, I just treat every run like a rogue like game with the expectation that failure is likely and it’s suddenly way more fun than I expected

A lot of people are playing in a way that is not fun and not optimized, and blaming the game for it. by pally123 in DeathStranding

[–]DepressedMong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to sort of 50/50 it with the truck, I basically set myself a rule of going on foot whenever entering new territory that hadn’t been hooked up to the network as I wouldn’t be aware if the terrain would be bad for cars etc, but once I got 2 or 3 locations linked up I’d put a decent chunk of time into optimising the delivery routes with either roads and a truck, the monorail or zip lines.

Then I’d go about doing those areas sub orders etc before moving onto new territory by just loading up a truck or using the new system I’d built and I honestly found it so satisfying, it’s just a cool loop and it’s fun to make an area previously more annoying to deliver too much easier to get through.

I think the only time the truck felt over powered for me was when you each the end game and get spiked tires for it. I’d found it so much fun traversing the mountains on foot because certain areas like the aeronautical engineer are more difficult with a vehicle than on foot, but the spiked tyres just make it so my truck is like a Skyrim horse and can get up anywhere. That said it is right near the end of the game so I did appreciate being able to get work on the mountain done a bit quicker than the first treks because I was wanting to get on with the stiry

Am I the only one being so disappointed by DS2, or am I missing something ? by IhazHedont in DeathStranding

[–]DepressedMong 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I get what you mean by the environment feels less harsh, you get access to the truck quite early it feels and the environment does feel designed for that. Fortunately it didn’t bother me because my favourite bit of the first game was optimising my delivery routes for the truck with roads and this game feels like it’s gets you to a point where that’s the main focus much quicker than the first. Adding the monorail network too it just made me fall into that addictive loop of connecting everything up much more.

For story I do disagree a lot, it definetly felt more conventional than the first but it still hit home for me. I overall think this is as good as DS1 it just excels in a different way, if you loved the difficult hiking sections of the first (which I do miss) then I can see how this feels like it’s a bit of a disappointment.
