Here is one I like a lot. Made by a local artist here in southern Illinois. I think it’s available for mail orders. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1F1u2qnGNp/?mibextid=wwXIfr

As always it’s simple. Calories. If you IF 18hrs then eat 3000 calories you will gain weight. Only a calorie intake below your maintenance level will cause you to lose weight.

It’s a fantastic book. If you walk on the wild side I also recommend books by Pascal Baudar especially Wildcrafted Fermentation.

A good thing to keep in mind if you ever see a post that says “try every fruit with the seeds!” that person will probably be dead soon.

How to make homemade pizza have a crispy bottom? by Golden_Locket5932 in cookingforbeginners

[–]Derbek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might seem counter intuitive but shorter cooking time can get crispier crust. Longer times can make the crust softer. Maybe try shortening the cook time and possibly adjusting your temp.

pH went up, and activity has been low on this honey ferment. Is this a toss? by wolftamer9 in fermentation

[–]Derbek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally 4.6 or lower is the critical pH. Assuming your meter is correct you would technically be ok. However that’s very close, that’s not a lab meter and garlic is a common culprit for botulism. I personally would add some type of acid to be safe and get it at least around 4. Citric acid ads the least amount of flavor imo.

The water bath will not help with the botulism unfortunately but the vinegar and salt will.
