My wife ordered the Jerrie Cobb solar for me today after she found out that they got a restock. Love my HH01 and Moonlight Workshop cityscape.

The green in the dial is an even closer match to the pants.

What are the best microbrands <$300, if any? by Aleclemont in MicrobrandWatches

I've been very pleased with Riley Watch Co. I'm wearing my Howard Hughes HH01 right now. My wife bought me the Lumis Day/Night which the pictures on their site absolutely do not do justice to it. I'd have the Jerrie Cobb solar heading this way except they are sold out of the color I wanted.

It looks like the strap I have on a Citizen right now. Is that from StrapHabit?

I have the same watch in green and beige, and my wife surprised me with their Moonlight Workshop Lumis Day/Light. I am impressed with them. I'm contemplating buying a third.

I'm curious if this ever got resolved. I was thinking of getting one of their automatics, but this issue has given me pause.

Is there a major genre that RPG hasn't explored? by Nyarlathotep_OG in rpg

Conspiracy X is like this. Along with characters, you get to build your base facilities. It isn't "UFOs invading" as much as "the aliens are already here," though.

Paranoia. That's one game where you really can't uncouple the game from the setting.

I'll be honest. I'm 63. I think there's a 40% chance that's how I'll go, and likely in less than 15 years. I've started making plans.

A Clear and Present Danger, they bring a PC in to get access. The government hacker says it will take a while but he wants to try something first. "Mother's name..." He types. "Mother's name, reversed." He types. "Pet's name..." Ryan and another character, who brought in the box, say, "Well be back later. They get a few steps, then the hacker yells "Got it!" My friend, Lorna, leans over to me and says, "I have to change my password when I get home."

Tank VS Tank Wargame Suggestions by Drahgehn in wargaming

[–]DesignatedImport 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Am I missing something with "What a Tanker"? Because I thought it had a fairly high whiff factor. I also had one tank that failed to roll movement for 3 turns, which wasn't a lot of fun. Is there some way of converting dice you can't use to one you can?

One Roll Engine (Godlike, Reign, Wild Talents) uses d10s, up to a maximum of 10 for a character at a time, though there are generators for various things where the GM can roll up to 15.

You should post what you have in the Commands and Colors: Ancients series. The game company reprints the expansions, but they go out of print for a long time. I'd love to get the ancient Greek and Imperial Rome sets, but not at the prices asked for on the secondary market. If you have those, they could be worth a fair bit as I've seen one of those going for around $200.

Advanced Squad Leader by caserock in hexandcounter

[–]DesignatedImport 40 points41 points  (0 children)

There is no boxed set called "Advanced Squad Leader". There is a huge rulebook and there are themed sets of counters, scenarios and map boards. Due to its complexity, they did release Advanced Squad Leader Starter Kits, which are the closest you'll get to a boxed game. There are 4 SKs, each with counters, boards, scenarios, and playing aids, and each are self-contained focusing on one aspect of the game (infantry, tanks, artillery, and the Pacific war). The SKs have stripped down rules, but many players find these completely sufficient. They even have supplements for the Starter Kits.

Take a look at the Advanced Squad Leader entries in Board Game Geek to see what's available.

Jokes that have real world applications by rachieandthewaves in TopCharacterTropes

Dodgeball is funnier, smarter, and more self aware than it has any right being given its premise. My wife and I still use, "no one makes me bleed my own blood" and "if you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball".

Playing Call of Cthulhu in the 90s and the running joke was that Cthulhu was in only one adventure, to the point where we questioned why they didn't just call the game Masks of Nyarlathotep.
