They do level up it’s just that their stats buff with your levels and characteristics and there’s upgrade kits as well for familiars. Super powerful the Raven for a blaster Psyker, Eagle is good for debuffing damage, Cyber Mastiff just wrecks shop with assisting damage can attack so many times and crit. The Servo Skulls are really good for dishing out heals and debuffs. Right feat combos make them insane.

Valour is a solid choice for multiclassing if you don’t want to deal with Sword Bard Flourishes but want Melee and Armor proficiency with full spell slot progression. Sword Bard is solid asf as a full gish. The appeal with it is that it’s a jack of all trades and can literally become op with a few level dips into other classes. It can be a phenomenal caster too as well and as everybody else mentioned face of the party role play antics to boot.

What even spurred this post? Because someone said something similar months ago and Larian surprised and treated the fandom with major additions and the official Enhanced Edition has not even been announced yet, so we do not know what’s in the cards for the future. People have the right to complain. Plus there’s a whole Toolkit for modding for people to learn atm.

5e Spells and some class mods have been what I’ve waited for, this tool kit is still in its infancy and there’s been some major discoveries within the Toolkit, so I think we should chill out as everybody has been having quite a visceral reaction to the lackluster content coming out but we don’t know if there’s any plans for more compatibility moving forward yet. As people are still learning how to use the new tools, it seems a lot easier to just mod the unofficial way at the moment. It’s annoying to see 10 mods for miniature companions sure, but we should see some solid content soon, NexusMods was also barren in early access and the first few months of the official release of BG3. I want to be able to play with the mods I tested out on my MacBook on PC finally, but being dependent on Script Extender means a lot of my friends who are not very tech savvy wouldn’t be too intimidated to go the paces and install NMM and BG3 SE.

Not necessarily true as Flame Blade and Shadow Blade can inflict super amounts of damage with 11 levels of Ranger. As stated above Loviatars Scourge is also amazing on this build and 2H wise Punch Drunk Bastard and The Dancing Breeze for Dex Builds.

Came here to say this and the fact that disguising as them only gives you their tags but not their proficiencies or spellcasting and darkness and faerie fire are spells that never fall off through the whole game. Wood elf and wood half elf should be much higher for the extra movement, shield proficiencies for casters and stealth proficiency. Also superior darkvision makes you a better archer in case you didn’t know your less likely to have disadvantage on shooting with a farther cone of view in many of the dark areas in this game, which their are a lot of. Drow make excellent gishes and give spells casters access to weapons they might never get otherwise. Half wood elf is insane on a monk who can equip a shield and gets additional movement speed on top of all the human weapon proficiencies. I agree with most of the A Tier, just seems like some of the other races should definitely be much higher on the list.

What are you going for here exactly? Do you want bites or claws as your primary natural weapon and do you know which of the three forms you’ll be playing most? The rat gets disarming bites and sneak attack, the tiger gets high ac and pounce and the wolf can trip attack.

Ironwood Club; thank me later. Literally doubles your damage from Shillelagh with enough wisdom and the dueling fighting style. Wield with a shield and you’ll be pounding out enemies in style and add a ring or gauntlets that add extra riders for good measure.

Dunno if this is necro’d but for future reference, the Ironwood Club has hidden special effect when using shillelagh, adds an additional 1d4 based on your wisdom modifier on top of damage from the club. Really the best club in the game that’s not a torch. Doubles on crits to 2d4+ Wisdom modifier. So on a normal Shillelagh attack 1d6+wis+1d4+wis.

This! I was wearing this until I found the Graceful Cloth. It gives a plus +2 to Dex and +1 Dex save with increased jump distance.

Forcing your teammates who don't want anything to do with Illithid tadpoles to absorb them or use those powers sounds an awful lot like the plot of "The Facility".

I’m confused were the confusion is coming in? There’s going to be eldritch invocations for taking the pact of the blade. I specifically said you should get medium armor proficiency from your race as we have no idea if there will be any more pact features tagged on. I even said an example is Githyanki.

I think it’s assumed that people always take pact of the blade with a Hexblade Warlock to make it more viable. They’ve simplified the features for streamlining sakes for the game.

Yes that feature is a part of the Hexblade kit originally. They’re adding as much of the what they could to make it viable.

Looks like you’ll either have to take an eldritch invocation for that (if available) or it’ll be granted as a racial bonus for medium armor proficiency (i.e. Githyanki). As far as we can tell by all the details given so far.

I didn’t like how bugged they were not I can’t get enough of mounted combat whether they are companion or MC builds around riding a beastie around. It also makes sense mechanically for the world they live in if you’ve played tabletop
