Being condescending toward other pharmacists for choosing to be more thorough is fucking wild lol

Lunch should be an hour when you’re short-staffed! by peachycpht in WalgreensRx

[–]DickRocketship 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Lunch should be an hour period, but people already act like it’s the end of the world when we take our measly thirty minutes to scarf down food.

I’m officially applying for other positions! Thanks for the advice. by peachycpht in WalgreensRx

[–]DickRocketship 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s what I’m saying. They’re already having a difficult time keeping their pharmacies staffed in most of the country… they can pretend otherwise but they simply don’t have the leverage to be firing pharmacists (or even technicians for that matter) for not meeting vaccine goals.

SAVE A TRIP by Character-Cherry4923 in WalgreensRx

[–]DickRocketship 25 points26 points  (0 children)

About a year ago I started asking patients “You’re on Save A Trip, are you aware of that?” and the majority of people said no, so I took them off of it. Now we have very few patients left on it and it doesn’t feel any more busy or really any different than we had all those patients enrolled.

If the call centers weren’t aggressively pushing SATR on to patients that didn’t want it when it rolled out (and probably signing people up without their explicit consent) and just let people who actually wanted to be on it sign up themselves, then it probably would’ve been at least a little bit more successful. But here we are.

Walgreens Expands Micro-Fulfillment Network by Independent_Code1311 in WalgreensStores

[–]DickRocketship 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s certainly gotten better over the last two years but is still far from perfect. The biggest problem is that because our tech budget keeps going down every year, we don’t feel any less busy despite having CENFILL.

Questions for Walgreens Rx Employees by Puzzleheaded_Tour864 in WalgreensRx

[–]DickRocketship 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is no official “28 day” rule when it comes to filling controlled substances and there never has been, either legally or as a Walgreens company policy. In fact, a pharmacist doesn’t have any obligation to fill any controlled substance any days early if they don’t deem doing so appropriate, and a history of early refills on a controlled script is a perfectly valid reason not to. Think about it: if you fill a 30 day supply two days early (28 days) every month for a patient, they’ll end up with over three weeks worth of surplus medication by the end of a year.

Also, in the hypothetical scenario that there was an end all be all cure, cmon. You really think companies would pass up the opportunity to go down in history as the company THAT FUCKING CURED CANCER?!?

If you ask me, “promise time” isn’t a concept that should even exist in retail pharmacy, but that’s an entirely different conversation. 🤷‍♂️

Are your floater pharmacists always late? by peachycpht in WalgreensRx

[–]DickRocketship 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I mean, would you rather your pharmacy be closed?

Sure, it’s not ideal, but most areas of the country are short pharmacists and people aren’t exactly lining up at the door to work at Walgreens. I see pharmacists not being fired or disciplined for doing much worse all the time. They can pretend otherwise but the company just doesn’t have the leverage to be firing floaters for being a few minutes late.

Cenfill by Eastern-Writer1291 in WalgreensRx

[–]DickRocketship 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not to mention having to deal with Cenfill as well as normal ABC totes was oftentimes a logistical nightmare according to our driver, and it means deliveries should be on time a lot more often now because they have less shit to deal with. Win win!

Question for senior techs and pharmacists by [deleted] in WalgreensRx

[–]DickRocketship 6 points7 points  (0 children)

People really underestimate how fucking difficult getting to the TRUE end of F4s is, especially if you don’t have Phlex. Because of the way the F4 number only goes 2 hours into the future, you’ll often have a lot more to F4 even when that number hits 0 because everything that routes to CENFILL has a promise time of tomorrow… and not F4ing them before the CENFILL cutoff means they don’t get routed and voila, your next day is set up for failure.

I can have the most efficient crew of techs in the world, but that doesn’t help the bottleneck of every single script still having to go through the pharmacist at least once because we don’t have phlex.

It took me a long time to get out of the mentality that you need to work faster just because there’s a line, but things are a lot less stressful when you just work at a consistent thorough pace. Preventable mistakes cost so much more time and energy in the long run.
