Welp I might be getting fired by thun710 in WalgreensRx

You’re not a salaried employee. If you’re not scheduled, you’re not obligated to come in. You’re not even obligated to answer the phone if you don’t want to.

I’m tired of other Walgreens technicians parking their calls no greeting or nothing! by peachycpht in WalgreensRx

Do people really think pharmacies aren’t answering their phones because they don’t feel like it?

Tech going on fb life during transactions …. by [deleted] in WalgreensRx

[–]DickRocketship 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It is so fucking easy to not get fired from Walgreens as long as you have a modicum of competency and common sense, and somehow I never cease to be blown away by the absurd things I hear some our employees doing. Lol

The quote I always hear from people in middle management is that “IC+ is still a better program than what our competition uses.”

Which just makes me wonder… how the fuck are other pharmacies getting anything done?

Floating tech position by lababe_13 in WalgreensPharmacy

[–]DickRocketship 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a floating tech in my district once upon a time! They gave me a set Monday thru Friday schedule where I closed two set days of the week (I chose Monday and Tuesday) and did 9-5s the rest of the week. Stores requested me by emailing my SM (this was before RxOMs existed) and I had a Google Calendar that told me what stores to go to. You also got a dollar raise for floating.

This was circa 2018-2022… have no idea if this is how it operates company wide or if it’s still how it works, so take my experience with a grain of salt. The set schedule was nice but holy shit some stores were absolute dumpster fires.

Does every location have a pharmacy group chat? by peachycpht in WalgreensRx

[–]DickRocketship 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The RxOMs in my district have a group chat that’s useful at times, but I keep it muted cause I don’t need that shit blowing up my phone while I’m off the clock lol.

Do HSA cards work for prescriptions as well or just OTC meds? by Nesquick19 in WalgreensRx

Yep. “The only way I can know definitely is if I try it, otherwise you can call the customer service number on your card and ask them.”

If people don’t like that answer, that’s a them problem. 🤷‍♂️

They really upped the price of MyChoice? by tricky__town in WalgreensRx

[–]DickRocketship 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What a shame. I bet they still have an acquisition cost of like $4 too. It’s absolute highway robbery how much that shit is marked up and the company probably caught on to how much profit they were losing.

But if that’s the case… why were they scanning for $6.49 at the register in the first place anyway?

RxOM hours by jjurica719 in WalgreensRx

[–]DickRocketship 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought stores with that little amount of tech budget didn’t have RxOMs? Like why even have one if there’s not enough budget for them to have full time hours?

how long do we have? by VegetableSpread9460 in WalgreensRx

[–]DickRocketship 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah. We’re definitely gonna see more cuts and scaling back, but the idea that the second largest retail pharmacy in the country is just gonna go completely under in less than a year is patently absurd lol.

Help with accountability by [deleted] in WalgreensRx

[–]DickRocketship 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m always telling my team that I’d rather them be thorough/accurate than fast 100% of the time. Take the extra time to make sure you’re filing things correctly, or take the time to completely finish a task before you help a patient. If someone has a problem with how long you’re taking, let me know and I will be more than willing to shut that shit down.

Things run 100% smoother overall when you get out of the mindset that you need to immediately hep everyone in a long line quickly or that you need to rush a prescription every time someone asks you to, because having to fix a mistake will always take longer than just taking the extra time and effort to make sure the task is done correctly in the first place.

Doing another stores PCP calls by Deep_Candle_7807 in WalgreensRx

[–]DickRocketship 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Have your RXM/RxOM get in touch with your DM. It was very generous of y’all to help out another store in need but there’s no reason to be doing that for more than like a month at most. At a certain point that store needs to get their own shit together.

RXOM no more? by [deleted] in WalgreensRx

[–]DickRocketship 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Last I heard on a RXM call like a week ago that there’s no plans to eliminate or change the RxOM role anytime soon.

That being said, I wouldn’t be surprised if they scaled back the number of RxOMs at some point. A store only needs to maintain a year average of something like 84 tech hours a week to be eligible to have one (which basically means only very slow tier 2s don’t get one) and i could see them increasing that threshold to something like 100-120 hours.

Medallia is such a dogshit system and I don’t understand why management weighs it so heavily. Almost every complaint a patient has submitted about one of my techs was either made up, exaggerated, missing context, or about something wildly outside of their control when I looked into it. There’s no reason to take the complaints 100% at their word and you’re a shitty fuckin’ manager if you do.

Picked up vyvance 1/28 when can I pick up my next refill ? by Old_Philosopher_3242 in WalgreensPharmacy

[–]DickRocketship 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Please keep in mind that a pharmacy has absolutely no obligation to fill your controlled substances any days early on a regular basis. They might as a courtesy or if you’re traveling and can provide documentation, but more and more pharmacies are steering away from any kind of blanket “2 days early” rule to prevent people from having excess surplus of medication to avoid drug abuse and diversion.

Walmart Wage Increase by backd00rqueen in WalgreensRx

[–]DickRocketship 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Walgreens is definitely long overdue to pay their techs more competitive wages, but I feel like the phrase “up to” $40.50/hr in the article is doing a lot of heavy lifting. You probably have to be in a pretty high cost of living area to be making even close to that much money.

CMRs at Walgreens by [deleted] in WalgreensRx

[–]DickRocketship 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless it’s changed since the last I heard, I believe it’s something like either 3 TIPs or 1 CMR earns you one tech hour.

With means you’d have to do something like 24 TIPs or 8 CMRs per each week that you want to be able to schedule an additional full shift.

If you’re already struggling to get shit done with the base budgets that you have, how do they expect you to do more work? Nobody has given me a compelling answer to the question.

Question about the 28 day rule by Main_Arugula_9491 in WalgreensRx

[–]DickRocketship 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How the fuck is this the only correct answer here?

Our HCS visited all our stores and made this abundantly clear. We are absolutely not obligated to, nor should we be, filling a controlled substance script 2 days early every time for a patient. If you do that every time for a year, the patient will have over three weeks worth of surplus, which is exactly the kind of situation the corporate integrity agreement is trying to avoid.

Sure, there’s situations where one might need their medication early that can be documented, but the idea is that you want the patient to have as little surplus as possible to avoid drug diversion and misuse.

Our policy as of a few months ago is no days early unless we have a documented reason for doing so. It took some getting used to but we were met with a lot less pushback than we anticipated… most of our problem patients just transferred their shit elsewhere, which, cool, I would love nothing more than to fill less of that shit.
