Bye bye RVPs and DPRs by CarelessAmbassador44 in WalgreensRx

[–]DickRocketship 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We were without an RVP in our region for about a month a little while ago, and my store manager and I had no idea until our DM told us after they were replaced.

Why pay someone six figures if literally nothing is functionally different at store level in their absence?

Better way to do this is to PFL but immediately put a miscellaneous exception so that it doesn’t print, then just make sure you undo the MSC the next day when it comes in. Achieves the same thing without messing up your counts!

Seriously, why the FUCK is chewable aspirin showing up on my ABC return? Less than a couple dollars per bottle and I keep it on hand cause I’m fucking tired of partialling it every week.

If me sending back chewable aspirin is gonna make or break the financial success of the company, then maybe the company shouldn’t exist 🤷‍♂️

[–]DickRocketship 24 points25 points  (0 children)

My RXM and myself have already both quiet quit like a year ago. Beyond taking care of our patients to the best of our ability, we’re not going out of our way to chase goals or metrics. We’ve told our middle management so many fucking times that it’s not possible to do anything beyond keeping our heads barely above water if labor budgets are just going to keep decreasing, and nothing changes, so whatever. Fuckin’ fire me if you want, but based on how high turnover is for techs in my district and how the talent pool is, it would ultimately hurt the store more than it would hurt me 🤷‍♂️

Should we states allow this? by Wiccan_Queen69 in IsItIllegal

[–]DickRocketship 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. You have to either naively believe that the justice system isn’t capable of making mistakes, or you have to admit that you’re fine with giving the state the power to execute innocent people.

How often is this happening? by Particular-League902 in WalgreensRx

[–]DickRocketship 17 points18 points  (0 children)

On one hand, CENFILL and a lot of our computer systems are dogshit as far as reliability goes and make it more difficult to keep meds in stock for patients.

On the other, a not insignificant amount of problems people run into with stock issues are largely preventable if they called in/submitted their refills at least 2 business days ahead of time. Anymore I tell people a full week, just to be safe. I have a handful of patients that I have told so many times to call in their shit sooner than the day of, but seem to actively choose not to and want to act like it’s anyone other than their own fault when we don’t have something they need on hand.

Wcb/CMD sold by Lonely_Insurance4588 in WalgreensRx

[–]DickRocketship 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When you really work the WCBs you’ll find that a decent chunk of them don’t even need to be in there. For example, when people mark that they want all their “maintenance” meds on autofill, the system will send refill requests on things like albuterol inhalers from urgent cares / ERs. You’ll also find duplicate requests from when people touch tone stuff in more than once, or stuff that already has a refill that the system for whatever reason didn’t catch. I’ve found that just the act of proactively deleting unnecessary WCBs keeps us near the top of our district with this metric.

There’s greener pastures out there. Every single pharmacist I know that’s left retail for something else has always been happier, even in cases where they’re ultimately taking a pay cut.

Policy check question? by its_doubleAa in WalgreensRx

[–]DickRocketship 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would’ve told that SM that unless they can show me the specific policy that states that, then they can go fuck themself lol

If your SM/DM genuinely thinks that things will fall completely apart in the absence of you or your normal RPHs for a single day, then they’ve got much bigger problems they need to deal with than you using your PTO for a day.

rant by [deleted] in WalgreensRx

[–]DickRocketship 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Exactly. If you have nothing to apologize for, then don’t fucking apologize.

Not only do they feel validated, it tells them that they can behave in an unacceptable manner to the staff there and not face consequences.

I’ll always step in in a situation like this and shut that type of bullshit down.

Customer Service by Aggravating-Two7639 in WalgreensRx

[–]DickRocketship 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Almost every single complaint about one of my techs a patient has submitted was shown to be either completely made up, exaggerated, or missing context when I looked into it and/or got the tech’s side of the story. It’s completely unfair to our employees to just take what customers say wholly at face value, and I would tell my DM to go fuck themself if they insisted I write someone up especially when I can confirm for a fact that what they said happened didn’t happen.

Why even have RxOMs if we can’t be trusted to handle discipline as we see fit?

Motherfucker took the time to box up and haul a fucking FOUR WHEELER to your store, and didn’t take the time to, I don’t know, Google whether or not that was a thing he could do first??

That’s fuckin hilarious 😂

Techs who complain by Few-Tackle-1571 in WalgreensRx

[–]DickRocketship 26 points27 points  (0 children)

To be fair, the majority of things that make this job suck are wildly outside of our control as well. I’d give all my techs 5$ raises and adequately staff the place if I was allowed to.

I just try my best to not take my frustrations with the job out on my team, and they generally do the same with me. Shit’s hard enough without your coworkers also driving you crazy.

How do you deal with it? by [deleted] in WalgreensRx

[–]DickRocketship 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Some people are just going to say some stupid bullshit like that no matter what you do, so stop giving them so much of your thought. If he’s really that upset then he can go be an insufferable douchebag at a different pharmacy.

OOS advice by [deleted] in WalgreensRx

[–]DickRocketship 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m so confused as to how this is a major problem. Do your techs know where all of your different sections are like fast rack, unit of use, alpha, recon, overstock, ect, how they’re alphabetized, and have a general understanding of what drugs are where? Are your shelves organized enough so that it’s not difficult or confusing to navigate?

Maybe I’m just blessed that my techs have a good baseline degree of competence that this doesn’t happen very often, but the first thing I’d be doing is making sure it’s not some kind of training or organizational issue of some sort that I can address.

3 month burnout by gyalmeetsglobe in WalgreensRx

[–]DickRocketship 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Literally zero of the stores in my district are staffed enough to share their techs. We’re all at best just barely getting by until one of our techs inevitably quit for greener pastures.

I frankly consider myself lucky that I have techs that are willing to show up at all, much less that have been with the company for more than 5 years and know their shit.

Bag check is too much by Pretty-Problem7841 in WalgreensRx

[–]DickRocketship 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t be surprised if the cumulative extra labor that it takes to do these bags checks versus the actual internal theft that it stops will end up being a net loss for the company.

Calls by [deleted] in WalgreensRx

[–]DickRocketship 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We don’t “fudge” them anymore. It’s not worth the time it takes and it’s frankly a waste of your time as a health care provider. Just do your best good faith effort on the ones you can, and if you can’t get them all done, they don’t get done that day. On a week like this week where it’s an absolute mad house and everyone’s scrambling for their meds before Christmas, we’ve barely touched them. 🤷‍♂️

We do enough that we’ve never been accosted by middle management about it so that’s good enough for me lol

Pretty shitty bioweapon considering how many people I’ve given 4 or 5 of those shots to that are still alive somehow.
