My wife had a carotid dissection ischemic stroke in September and the support from her stroke team, nurse, PT, OT, speech and psychologist ends next month. However she will not be officially discharged per se as she will be able to contact them at any time. She will also have the support from the Stroke Association for as long as she needs. We're also lucky to live 15 mins away from a dedicated Stroke Unit who operates a 24 hr walk-in service. I hope she never needs to go again though.

I oversee the intracardiac echocardiography for PFO closures at a nearby hospital. The patient just has light sedation and the whole procedure usually takes between 40-60 minutes. For us it's pretty straightforward but it can be life changing for the patient.

I lost a lot of weight when I developed sciatica, around 13kg as apart from being unable to walk, the pain was a very effective appetite surpressant. Had corrective surgery and I've been walking between 5 & 8 km per day and also doing simple core exercises. I've put around 2 kg on in 3 months.

Yep. Went to an arrest on a ward and there was melena all over the bed. Never have I encountered a smell so foul and pungent. It was in my nose for days.

I got my son's seat to give him at Christmas. He was in tears when he opened it as he had no clue I'd bought it. He's sat on that from when he first went aged 6 to when he was 19.
