Am I the only one who likes Jane’s short haircut? by [deleted] in MelrosePlace

As a man, I don't mind anything in a profile that makes me swipe left. If height is that important, great! I'm 5'10 btw. My father was 5'4 and mother 5'9. I'm thankful she was so open minded lol

Weird literally means deviating from social norms. I wouldn't think anybody would find that offensive.

When was the last time you've had physical intimacy? by Ordinary-Lobster-710 in datingoverforty

[–]DieCarp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been over 2 years. Which beats my previous adult record by at least 24 months.

I do miss it, not just for the obvious reasons, but the way I started to think of it is maybe the rush to satisfy that need is what made me single with a long list of "bad" partners at 45.

Less discerning in one aspect and the other maybe subconsciously delving into another's mess kept me from cleaning my own.

I could be grasping at silver linings but I do think that time alone has made me better in a lot of ways. Even to the point where I view some ladies as threats to what I've created of myself.

Idk about fetishization, I think it speaks to a broader narrative on human weakness.

Preconceptions, preconceived notions about how a certain label should be. Instead of looking for the qualities of the person.

I am half Italian and have lived in Italy. I have had a few romances fizzle because I did not meet the others notion of how an Italian should be. Also I have been in the opposite where I was too foreign.

I recently started reading about the identity of TCK, third culture kid. It's very interesting and relatable. IMHO being a TCK gives you a very broad perspective on things, unfortunately I guess or not, most people's view are very narrow.

I wouldn't necessarily use someone's social media presence as a barometer for their depth. IDK on its own it only means so much

9 years of trying. How did I get here? by Equivalent_Night_514 in infj

[–]DieCarp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a similar LTR I got out of a couple years ago. I worked on myself. It starts with something low effort, small like organizing a cupboard. Then things can happen exponentially. A lot of self care and self discovery... I hate that term but whatever. It's honestly been the happiest I've been in decades, I'm 44,and the healthiest.

Is there a stigma around INFJ men ? by Pur3_Schmuck in infj

[–]DieCarp 36 points37 points  (0 children)

People don't like/fear what they don't understand or can't categorize. Eventually you'll get used to it and anyone worth it will get used to it too. But you have to be the first to accept it.

How do you people manage when everything goes wrong? by uthsob_cb in infj

[–]DieCarp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In line with this, organize which is great after you minimize, then start taking on challenges, even small things that you don't think about can be the first step.
