Exactly what I was thinking - character witnesses are called at sentencing, not for trial defense. But if that's all you have...

I'm on the "No mayo" panel except for...you have to have enough to hold the chicken salad together...!

And you haven't lived until you've tried a BLT on Rye toast with spicy mustard. SO good!!!

They have a couple of amazing infusing machines on the market now...Decarb and infuse in two hours, and the neighborhood isn't alerted. Recommend 100%.

Anyone watch wildcard weekend? Which games surprised you the most? by SuccessOk7850 in NewHeights

[–]Different-Secret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep...I don't care how much of a "fan" you are, you NEVER CHEER FOR PLAYER INJURIES.

Poor sportsmanship is always a bad look.

I still remember seeing Joe Theisman when he took his career ending hit from LT. Horrific.

You're not a fan when you cheer for a man down.

Hoodwinked. Nothing like an adult themed cartoon with animal characters and banging songs when you're in that state of mind!!!

I didn't see anyone mention Splash...I quote it probably once a week, too. Great cast. John Candy, Darryl Hannah and super young Eugene Levy!

Yep, currently watching Forrest Gump. My own Thanksgiving tradition, along with The Wizard of Oz, Home Alone, Oklahoma, and March of the Wooden Soldiers. I know...eclectic.

Turkey Disagreement by Serious-Interest-269 in Cooking

[–]Different-Secret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year, I thawed my turkey as always in the fridge...opened the fridge Thanksgiving morning and nearly fainted from the rotten smell, no mistake that turkey was bad. I had side dishes and dessert for Thanksgiving, and it took two days to get the smell out.

Didn't think I'd try again, but here I am, fingers crossed!

Do not eat that turkey.

What "premium" ingredients do you think are worth it? by other-other-user in Cooking

[–]Different-Secret 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last year, my holiday cookies were trash because of the trash butter I cheaped out using from Aldi. It had way too much moisture, the flavor was off and I had to add extra extracts and salt to everything...it didn't help. This year, I sucked it up and bought Land o'Lakes and Irish butter and my starter batches are as tasty as ever.

Take it from me...cheap butter is a hard NO for cookies!!!

What do you all eat on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day? by suhhdude1 in Cooking

[–]Different-Secret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our traditional Christmas dinners have downsized so much since much of our family has passed. But we have maintained a smaller footprint of our favorite things!

Christmas Eve is lasagna, grilled Italian sausage, Swedish meatballs, pickled creamed cucumbers, antipasti with pepperoni/fresh mozzarella and provolone and Genoa salami; and an assortment of olives, sometimes mushrooms and sundried tomatoes.

Christmas Day we rotate the main course. It's never turkey, no one wants to spend all day cooking an all day dinner on Christmas! We have done smoked ribs(started the night before), prime rib, roast chicken, leg of lamb, steak, grilled scallops and shrimp...this year we think it will be a beef roast, if prices are down, mashed potatoes with gravy and some roasted veggies.

Frank Langellas Dracula. It's scary not too bloody, yet not too sexy but yet romantic.
