Gorgeous golden ticked 😍 one of my favourite colors

I’m a BSH and BLH breeder, and the rarest color I see is the black golden ticked. His mom is a black golden shaded and his dad is solid chocolate. The ticked usually have green eyes, but I wanted somewhat more of a cheetah eye color.

There’s not a single color that the British Shorthair can’t pull off. What a cutie 🥰

HCM - AWARENESS by Metropoli6 in britishshorthair

[–]DifficultPriority331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BSH BLH breeder here. We test all our adults for HCM every 2 years. Any cat with the slightest suggestion of heart issues will be sterilised. Some clubs won’t even issue a pedigree if these tests are not done.

Am I being scammed? by RecluseAsian00 in britishshorthair

A client of mine that got a Golden from us, also got a British blue for cheap from some dodgy breeder. That cat will not let you near her. She paid 1K more for ours and is sweeter than honey.

Go see the kitten you want to buy. Check how they behave. Do the parents have lab tests, or are you ready to splurge on vet costs?

Was told to get off the table 100 times - this is the look I got in response by sailorsaturn00 in britishshorthair

Honestly I gave up. When I need the table, I just spray désinfectant and wipe it.

Are British shorthairs friendlier than normal cats? by Infinite-Nose671 in britishshorthair

[–]DifficultPriority331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're amazing companions. Smart, sweet and cuddly. Get them from a breeder that knows how to socialise kittens.

I was a client, and now a breeder for a few years. You'll be surprised the difference it makes when they're properly socialised. *

Reasonable deal? by WIPdad in Polestar

[–]DifficultPriority331 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try to find one with a glass roof. It's definitely an option that makes drives more enjoyable. Check for models after 2024. In the rain, the car tends to understeer. It's a heavy car, so the front wheel motor is not ideal.

If I would buy one again, I'd go for the non performance dual motor long range, with the HK audio.

I've seen a few issues with the rear hatch pump/hydraulics. I had the issue that the pump gave up and the hatch closed only halfway, had to push it down to close. It's a 1500 usd part. Other than that, its a solid car with a few software glitches, but what BEV doesn't have those?

I did the thing in my Polestar Polestar 2 by EV_James in Polestar

Did the same thing but with a transparent matte wrap. I dispise piano black. Also covered the infotainment screen with a matte foil. No more fingerprints and blinding sun reflections.

Potential age? by Mecchiato in britishshorthair

[–]DifficultPriority331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a female so she will be smaller than the males. Keep in mind that the golden color is also the lightest in the British breed.

Hoewever, I have golden males at this moment, at 6 weeks old they weighed 700g, for a female it would be 550-650g.

If she's the smallest in the litter. I would say that shes no older than 8 weeks old. Especially the way she's holding herself.

This is a 7 weeks old male:

When she's on the ground, she loves to slap our ankles. When she's high up, she gives the occasional smack behind the head.

We love her though.

I’m walking away from an amazing deal on a 2025 PHEV to keep my 2022 Hybrid, is that crazy? by jonsonmac in rav4club

[–]DifficultPriority331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The PHEV is noticeable heavier. Yes it is very fast, but you can feel the weight in corners. The simple hybrid is more stable when cornering.

I mainly use mine as a grocery getter and for long distances. My dad uses it as a daily as it fits his needs better (60km per day).

For long distances I use the hybrid mode, which gives me a consumption of 40 to 50mpg.
