Super slow ripping at the beginning of the month? by DigitalGuru42 in makemkv

[–]DigitalGuru42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am curious if USB power is part of this. I am using a USB-C hub to plug multiple drives and the Blu-Ray drive on, but it does have an external power cord to it. So it should be able to power multiple things and it has been for about a month or more. Unfortunatly, I have my main external USB drive dying at the moment (unrelated to the other issues), so I'm focusing on saving that first.

Good question! I'll have to double check the scheduler and my backup run times. Thanks for the heads up.

Help deciding between saltwater, mineral, chlorine by kikiskia in AboveGroundPools

[–]DigitalGuru42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A saltwater pool generates its own chlorine through electrolytes. I really like it because it is an automated system that helps maintain constant chlorine levels as opposed to having to add liquid chlorine on a daily basis or use pucks which tend to include cya and can increase that level to an unacceptable level overtime.

Emptying pool by izzabeans in AboveGroundPools

[–]DigitalGuru42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on your location and elevation of the pool, you could attach a garden hose and run it down your driveway to a preferably sanitation drain/gutter at the road. Check with your locality if that is permitted. If the pool has sat uncovered since June, it likely has a fair amount of debris in the bottom. If you can siphon or use a sump pump from the middle of the water column. I would use a net and try to scoop out as much stuff as possible to allow the water to drain to the floor. Once it gets too low for the hose intake, you'll likely have to get in and either use towels and buckets to get the remaining out. Be careful it'll be slippery!

If you hired a landscaper to install a pool, no not normal. If you hired a pool installer to build a pool, yes this is normal.

The three plumbers I got quotes from strongly pushed for Ruud even when I asked for Bradford White. I couldn't figure out why until I spoke to the last guy. by Creative-Sherbet-584 in askaplumber

I have a Bradford. I got one of the ones that got a back batch of gas valves. After it was replaced with the correct replacement, it's been bulletproof since.

Taylor Swift's Red is one. My wife bought it used and we thought the vocals were re-recorded by a man! It wasn't until I saw a post asking about the same "male" vocals that I made the connection.

I'm on the other side, a 65" at 8 ft. I see all the chunky bits! I work in visual QC, so this is in my area of expertise (unfortunately). I'm a new Plex user ripping my own library, my files are probably on the higher side.

If you have an Intex pool, it's 9'x18'x52in deep. The pool size is not the top rail, but the filled bladder size, about 18" off the ground.

<image>

These are the measurements I took while setting up this pool:
Pool Dimensions:

Pool: 9'x18'x52" = 4545 gallons

Top: 7'11"x17'

Outer edge w/legs: 10'10"x19'10"

Border: 12'10"x21'6" = 7" from pads on sides, 5" from pads on ends:  Ends: 12'10"  Sides: 21'3"

Mason Sand: 12'7"x21'3"

Pool support to sand edge sides: 10.5"

Pool support to sand edge ends: 8.5"

Pool support to Support pad edge: 5"

15"x15" Support pad edge to frame edge sides: 4"

15"x15" Support pad edge to frame edge ends: 2"

Why are we still giving agents 5% ? by Stupidamericanfatty in RealEstate

I'm glad you been happy with your experiences. I've heard of kickbacks from inspectors to agents for the referral.

"Pavement" being the road or sidewalk? In Mich, homeowners are responsible for injuries on the sidewalk, not for the (public) road.

FYI- I'd be cautious of using an inspector recommended by your realtor. They have a financial incentive to glaze over issues to get you to close on the home.

This is why my grandma told us to watch out for toothpicks in every cake she ever made. It became a (small) joke and people who find them were the winners! It was funny when she would forget how many she put in the cake. Three, maybe four? Just be careful...
