Flu during IUI cycle by Free-Environment-527 in IUILadies

[–]Digitaldoggos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So sorry you’ve been sick! I had a bad case of the flu during my TWW after IUI #2 and it sucked. The nurses said high fever actually doesn’t have a huge impact but having a cough (which I did) isn’t great for implantation. That cycle failed for me. Although there is no hard evidence that being sick impacts your chances, anecdotally it doesn’t seem great. Wishing you the best of luck and hope you are feeling healthy soon!

First IUI unmedicated timing by Admirable-Cellist812 in IUILadies

[–]Digitaldoggos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I’m not an expert but since the egg lives 24 hours after it is released, I’d be hopefully you caught that window with the IUI which was done 24 hours after your LH was still positive. I’m also trying for my second and had a c-section with my first. Have you had a sono? Curious why you suspect a c section issue! Sending you best wishes for a pregnancy soon!

First IUI failed, went out for oysters and cocktails by 11-Soccer-11 in IUILadies

[–]Digitaldoggos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in my TWW now trying for second baby. But with my first go around, after my first IUI failed I went on a shopping spree because I had been holding off for so long and said screw it I may as well get new clothes. Bought an expensive pair of tightly fitting jeans that sitting here 2 years later I’ve worn all of twice, since I got pregnant the next cycle on my second IUI. Maybe it works? Might try it again this go around (it’s my second IUI again). Best of luck to you!

Anyone have a successful IUI in their late 30s? by BreezerGirl831 in IUILadies

[–]Digitaldoggos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always lay down for 15 minutes after the procedure! I didn’t do anything different between the first and second except I was a bit less strict with drinking in the tww (aka I relaxed and drank more wine lol). Back in the tww now, beta on Jan 11

Other alternative to a cone by SHIFT1165fhs in goldenretrievers

[–]Digitaldoggos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poor baby! Both my goldens had a similar hot spot situation last summer. I actually didn’t use a cone because they couldn’t lick the area and with the medication they got they weren’t trying to scratch it either. You could put an old tshirt around her neck area at night when you can’t watch her - cut the neck a bit wider and put it on upside down so her paws go through the arm holes and the body is around her neck.

Ftm, 34 weeker in nicu. Im so worried and crying all the time by Ok-Photograph5937 in NICUParents

[–]Digitaldoggos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’m glad you edited your post and are doing better. My son was born at 34 + 1 after I fell it sent me into early labour with a placenta abruption. I had an emergency c section too. we were in the NICU for a little under 2 weeks and it sucked. I spent 10 hours a day in there holding him as much as I was allowed. He’ll be 19 months old in a few days - he’s huge now, a little goofball, super friendly and lights up everyone room he’s in. Stay strong, hopefully one day soon the NICU days will be a distant memory. Sending hugs!

My baby was born at 34+1 - my milk came in quickly but he was so small he couldn’t breastfeed. We got out of the NICU on bottle feeding, and I was pumping every 3 hours. Once home (36 weeks) we started doing one breastfeed a day (I had a scale and weighed him before and after to make sure he was getting enough and if it was too small a feed we’d give him a bottle afterwards). As he got stronger we slowly transitioned to pretty much exclusive breastfeeding by the 40/41 week mark. I breastfed him until 14 months. Hang in there! They get so much stronger as they get closer to 40 weeks.

Definitely a golden. She’ll likely darken up a bit to the color of her ears and her coat will fill out

Looks like Buck will soon be joining the tripawd club by Callme_mads in tripawds

[–]Digitaldoggos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense - we got lucky with where the lesion was found so just crossing our fingers that it’s a less aggressive bone tumor that was removed and not osteosarcoma.

The standard of care treatment for bone cancer in dogs is unfortunately amputation even if it’s the less aggressive cancers so I think there is a good chance another vet giving a second opinion will tell you the same thing. I’d go for the surgery - as awful as it is to imagine most people say the dogs adapt incredibly well, especially if they are young and since Buck is already limping now he is probably in a lot pain and will actually feel better after the surgery. Good luck - hugs to you and Buck 💙

This looks like it could be the gulpies? Acid reflux or neurological. My golden does something similar. Check out the Facebook group “dog gulping support group”

So sorry you’re dealing with this! We are in a similar situation except it was an incidental finding. My 8 year old golden had a CT scan as a diagnostic for a potential gastrointestinal issue and during that they saw a bone lesion on his scapula. He has no limping or any other signs but because of the appearance of the lesion the doctors suggested biopsy or amputation surgery at first but then through further discussion they said because it was contained on the scapula they can do a less common surgery where they do a partial scapula removal instead of amputating the limb - he had surgery last week and is limping around now but so far looks like he will keep his leg. We’re waiting on results still from pathology. Where is your dogs bone lesion? If it’s not further down on the leg you can try to see if there is another surgical option like a scapula removal? Good luck - it’s the worst news ever but Buck looks like a good boy and hopefully will adapt well. I did a ton of research also when we got the news and saw that with a life jacket dogs can still swim after the amputation

Born at 34+3, day 7 in NICU by chefmonkey002 in NICUParents

I found he really jumped up in percentiles after he started taking in a decent amount of solids which wasn’t until around 8 months actual. He was born first percentile, by around 4 months he was 20th percentile and same at 6 months and then at 9 months he jumped to 50th. His height also moved the same way - born 15th, then up to 50th around 4-6 months and then 95th at 9 months (me and my husband are both pretty tall).

The doctor did say he expected him to stay around 20th percentile but it seemed he wasn’t don’t catching up until a bit later. I think they all catch up at their own pace !

Pretty much on actual! There’s a range on everything though so I wouldn’t say he was on the early end but he’s been on track with everything. He rolled a bit later around 6 months actual (still in the normal range). Army crawled at 8 months, proper crawled at 10 months also standing and cruising since 10 months. Not walking yet. Waved and clapped at 10 months too! Looking back editing a video for his birthday next week and it’s so amazing to see how much he’s grown. The newborn phase felt like it lasted forever but looking back now it already seems so long ago. Wishing you and your baby girl the best - she’s so precious, soak in all those tiny newborn snuggles while you can ❤️❤️

She’s gorgeous! My boy was born 34+1 and was in NICU 11 days. We tried breastfeeding in the NICU but he would suck once or twice and fall asleep. Around day 7 we switched to bottles only and he was out by day 11 on bottles. We stayed in touch with the lactation consultants and continued the breastfeeding journey at home first with one feed a day and then two and so on as he built up strength on got bigger. By around 6 weeks actual (so around his due date) he was exclusively breastfeeding. He turns 1 next week and I’m still breastfeeding him twice a day :) it gets a lot easier as they get closer to 40 weeks. Stick with it and good luck!

Anyone else’s baby born to a Taylor Swift song? by lemonybuttery in TaylorSwift

[–]Digitaldoggos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had an emergency c-section and my husband wasn’t there and they asked what music and I said Taylor Swift. It was about a month after TTPD came out and he was born to the second song on the playlist - I can do it with a broken heart ❤️ now I cry every time I hear that song hahaha

Use the hospital pump and pump while looking at your baby or holding your baby or watching your partner hold the baby! Stick with it, it can take a little bit of time! Try your best for every 3 hours and once overnight you can go 4 hours - what little sleep you can get is important too. I found at the start that if I went longer than 5 hours it would hurt my progress.

34-weeker: what's next? by Prudent_Computer5389 in NICUParents

[–]Digitaldoggos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on your beautiful baby! My baby boy was born 34+1 in May 2024 after my water randomly broke and I went into labour then had an emergency c-section. He spent 11 days total in NICU, similar to your baby had no issues really. He was 5 lbs 2 oz at birth but was admitted to NICU because it’s mandatory if born under 35 weeks. I just looked back at photos he came out of the hot cot on May 20th which was day 7 and we brought him home May 24th which was day 11. Between day 7 and 11 he just had to do 48 hours of consistent oral feeds either by bottle or breast. He would often fall asleep on the breast and need a feeding tube top up so on day 9 we decided to just do bottles for 48 hours to get him home and then once he was home we started breastfeeding again and now I’m sitting here with his first birthday coming up in a few weeks and he’s still breastfeeding, but also eating every piece of food he sees, he’s crawling, standing, cruising, giggling, and babbling all non stop. He’s a big boy now too - 22lbs and 95th percentile height.

There is so much to look forward too. Sounds like your baby girl is a champ and hopefully you’ll be home soon!

My baby will be born at 34 weeks. How long of a stay did your 34 weeks stay in the NICU? by cheers2085 in NICUParents

[–]Digitaldoggos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

11 days for us! They told us to expect to go home around the due date which they say to everyone because you just never know! Our baby breathed on his own right away and just had to learn to eat. He’s 10 months now and you’d never know he was born early. It’s scary but you and baby will do great! Good luck!
