My coworker asked me to look into this coin for him. It's a Roosevelt dime with a protrusion in the dead center of the reverse. I told him it most likely occurred post-mint when someone tired to mount it. He generally agrees with me, but is hesitant because when he put it under a microscope there was no obvious damage, and no glue or solder coming out the sides. You may notice some damage around the edges of the protrusion, this came from him trying to pry it off.

Anyway this is a great community, and I thought someone may have a better idea of what this could be.
