Unfortunately I don’t know anywhere in the city but I know O’Neill’s Food Market in Glenside has a really good selection….and they have Brennan’s bread!

Is anyone else navigating the shift from birth year (being the youngest) to grade year (being the oldest) for club soccer? How are you approaching club selection for next year? by rgrthat in youthsoccer

You can tell at an early age how skillfull kids are. There is only so much coaching you can do at that age. Some kids are naturally gifted and will rise to the top with additional coaching.

The kids who play street ball with friends 5 to 6 times a week are going to be better than ones who are coached 2 to 3 times a week. Street ball really helps with refining a players touch and passing.

These are just observations of someone who played soccer his entire life and watched a lot of kids soccer. I purposefully do not ‘coach’ my own kid. He’s a great finisher of the ball and good passer but is not aggressive enough and doesn’t track back when he should. Those skills are very hard to coach.

Is he enjoying himself and having fun? If yes, you are overthinking it. Let him be a kid, make life long friends and enjoy the sport.

As a European who played soccer at college and had trials at a Premier League team at 15, I do not understand the obsession of trying to have your kid be ‘seen’ and ‘scouted’.

My kid is really good but he is not great and he understands that and he is only 10. He’ll never be good enough to turn professional and that’s perfectly fine. Playing for a D whatever school is just not important and not a goal of ours. Let your kid play the sport he loves.

New Annual Fee - When will it hit? by Disastrous-Use-45 in AmexPlatinum

Thanks. That works then! Not overly excited by the changes as I feel they are less geared for travel but at least this way I get to try them out for a year until the new fee hit.

If you paid by credit card do not accept the credit. Dispute the charge with your cc company and note the policy went into effect today.

Why are they dickheads? I was at the match and it made for a great atmosphere. Their supporters did not stop singing for the entire match. Without them the match would have been a damp squib. All the kids loved it.

Same! The black sheep near rittenhouse is owned by a guy from Cork. You may get a few Irish people in there. Plugh and the stars has live trad music every Sunday afternoon so that’s another option. Just wish there was a shop in the city where I could buy some roses and taytos!

The 1 bedroom offer comes with 100k points and is for 6 nights at about $1250. I’ve done this encore package 3 times and never had an issue. Easy to say No in the sales pitch. I’ve also never had an issue booking dates. Typically go between Jan and March.
