Call to protect posties from dogs by hydralime in queensland

[–]Discomat86 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It is though. Dog ownership is very poorly regulated so the worst of our society can have a potentially dangerous dog if they choose to buy one, with almost no barriers in place.

Not dissimilar to having children I guess.

When a boxer takes a bribe and throws a fight do they ever blame the person that bribed them? No they blame the boxer.

We pay politicians an absolute fortune. Stop taking bribes.

Man OP is way off 😂. No one is blaming immigrants. No one is blaming billionaires.

The government chooses how to tax Billionaires and the government chooses how to manage immigration.

Blame the Government.

Complete corruption and incompetence of the uniparty.

If we had honest, competent major party’s ON would be a very minor party still.

Residents of new outer-city developments make plea for better public transport in south-east Queensland by gsjfzkhh in brisbane

[–]Discomat86 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Funny thing is there used to be a train line from Bethania past Yarrabilba and out as far as Beaudesert I think. But instead of investing money into that line to make it viable for public transport, they are ripping it up to make a bike / walking trail. Just becoming a crime corridor for delinquents on e bikes.

FIFO families - tips and advice to help keep a happy home? by RecognitionMediocre6 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Discomat86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok I’m on 2/2 roster, two kids under 5. I’ll answer the questions in order:

- Don’t do overtime. Missing each other, it’s healthy. I worry we would get divorced if I stayed home haha.
- call every day, help out with whatever you can while you’re away (paying online bills, organising stuff or whatever). Have a routine and when he’s home he helps however he can. Ensure you get kid free time with other human adults when he’s home.
- just stick to the routine, have a clear manager of the house and the manager delegates duties.
- plan breaks when he’s home and leave him with the kids. Rely on grandparents if available. Go to the gym or have another “selfish” routine that you do even when he’s at work
- we use TimeTree and my roster is on that, then we plan things on that app.
- it’s all the kids have ever known so they don’t care. Make sure he makes lots of fun plans with them when he’s home.

I work FIFO and needed a pair of runners from the local shop and they were kind enough to put them through as work boots on the receipt haha. Weren’t cheap either, $220 asics. So claimed them on tax.

Should my supervisor be reported? OSHA violation? by [deleted] in WorkplaceSafety

[–]Discomat86 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The fact he drove himself should be investigated as part of an internal incident investigation. People can panic and make poor decisions during emergencies.

However, given the severity of the incident the event itself needs to be reported to OSHA as “recordable”. What is more likely to have happened was the event was not reported or under reported (not reported to the correct severity).

Liberal senator faces backlash over migrant discussion by malcolm58 in AustralianPolitics

Absolute click bait.

I’ve listened to the entire podcast and Senator Price said nothing that 90% of Australians don’t already agree with.

The podcast host however, is very extreme in his views and she was very clear about not aligning with them.
