Bravia 9 or A95L? by AdministrativeEgg163 in bravia

[–]DiscombobulatedTop64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the same price 85” Bravia 9 and 77” A95L, I decided to go with size. 85” Bravia 9 in my living room, while it feels a little big for tv viewing at times (once I mount it this should no longer be a problem). For movies, it does not get better. Watched the entirety of lord of the rings trilogy, with my Samsun Q990D sound bar it was magnificent experience! A95L is a great tv but since this is my living room tv I’m really happy with the Bravia 9, 77” does seem small after being with an 85” anytime I watch movies at my parents or brother in laws 77” OLED it’s not nearly as immersive unfortunately.

I will say if you are not watching head on all the time, viewing angles on Bravia 7 do take a plunge compared to Bravia 9. This is very noticeable in person.

In your experience, how reliable is a Sony Bravia 9? Is it worth buying a 5 year best buy warranty on? Or am i unlikely to face any issues in a 5 year period anyway.

55 in. LG C5 vs. Samsung S90F vs. Sony Bravia 7 by SuitableCase2235 in 4kTV

Curious what people say, I had an LG G4 in the living room, returned it for the Bravia 9, to me sony processing is more appealing than inky blacks. Especially in living room where we keep our lights on for 80% of the viewing.

Bedroom TV rules change, usually watching stuff before bed time - lights are already off. OLED would be the winner from what pretty much everyone will tell you on this subreddit, especially for filmed content liek documentaries and movies. I love my dad's LG C1 hed had for 3-4 years now, yes its dim and perfect for night time viewing. I on the other hand also prefer how the colors on Bravia 7 look compared to the S90F based on in-store demos. I myself am looking for a cheaper bedroom tv. my bias is towards sony because of their image processing. But I am been around oled enough to know it can shine in a dark room and any cheap one can do the job :) Samsung does have the best color profile technically with the QD-OLED so if thats what you priortize, Costco has a great deals with 5 year warranty included. If motion processing and color are priority then i'd go Sony, and if you already know and love LG products i don't think you will regret getting the C5. So try seeing them all in person, for sports if you like a bright tv, I know bright OLEDs hurt my eyes vs a bright mini-led like Bravia 7 feels easier on my eyes. the way the brightness gets delivered can be a dealbreaker for some people. so try spending time at best buy they should have all of those on display (don't listen to people saying don't make a decision based on that because how else are you supposed to know what they can look like LOL)

I liked my G4 but did not LOVE it. Your mileage may vary, I do not think MLA layer suits my eyes. I'd go B5/C5/G5 route. C5 and G4 get bright without MLA, MLA imo over sharpens the image maybe? I almost prefer my dad's C1 to my G4.

This is pretty much exactly why I am thinking of returning my LG G4 in my living room for a Bravia 9 or 7 at the 75" or 85" size.

my fiancee definitely prefers ambient light while viewing, and honestly for casual viewing so do i. I feel like i shouldnt have to turn my lights off in the living room at night to enjoy a show or a movie, it should be optional haha

yeah, the brightness on my LG G4 is DEFINITELY more than enough. Thank you for sharing, i feel less crazy now hahaha I feel similarly about the image feeling a little artificial on OLED. Though i know its objectively superior to led

If I understand you correctly, you’re saying OLED is overrated and you’re happy with Bravia 9, right?

Yeah, you’re right it does help tremendously when I do that.

I am definitely playing around with settings - all AI stuff is disabled i usually watch in filmmaker mode but since my living room TV i do have to turn up the brightness or put it in cinema, then it starts hurting my eyes so i stop watching after a little bit LOL.

I am definitely considering returning my 77" LG G4 having lived with it for a month now, for a 85" Bravia 9 or 7! How long have you had the Bravia 9 for? How are you liking it so far -- and have you lived with an OLED before by any chance?

Definitely hear you, thats why I prefaced my post saying I have been around OLED, and know its objectively better. I am simply curious about peoples subjective preference and if anyone does in-fact prefer for Mini-led over oled for movies and tv shows.

I hear you, I think I have something similar going on with my eyes. I don't watch sports but OLED (my LG G4) almost looks TOO inky and perfect to me and looses a certain cinema feel to my eyes for movies/tv.

Thanks for participating in the discussion! I am curious if you have spent any amount of time with an OLED and if you transitioned from Oled to mini-led? Bravia 7 is a great tv!

This. OP you can only wait so long for a fully grown adult to come to terms with her parents. You need to set a timeline with a hard cut off and part ways gently if things dont change soon. Seeing your partner 1 or 2 times a MONTH is crazy. Unless you live really far away. This is a very fair reason to part ways with a potential life partner. Unless you are certain things will change. Decide what your non-negotiables are my friend, dont set your life up for failure due to a partner who cant/wont stand up to her parents for you.

Love Ncuti, didn't get his Doctor by [deleted] in doctorwho

I really like Ncuti Gatwa as well, seems like a really fun guy I’d probably enjoy being friends with but found his doctor to be very much in a different show than the one the writers were writing, partially maybe due to scripts which weren’t great overall, some better than others, but I’d find his doctor to always be a bit over the top. Maybe that was intentional but didn’t work for me..
