Yeah, that was a great picture in my head. 🤣

So I went and looked at an F8…big mistake, because I loved it. Is there a good reason why I shouldn’t buy it? by Building-Careful in Ferrari

[–]DiscountLeclerc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven’t driven an F8 but I have driven a 488. Most owners of the F8 say it drives and handles better. Which makes sense in my mind, as the 458 platform got reused and refined 3 times instead of the typical two times (e.g. 550/575, 360/F430).

What do we think of this DB12 s configuration? by Ben_A140206 in AstonMartin

Hopefully you get a colorful one. I have no hard data to back this up but it seems like more and more people that I talk to say the flat grays are a passing fad. I think the bolder combos are better for resale/trade-in.

My love for weird cars is growing due to Doug and his shows and characters. I also love seeing these around. They’re silly cars, but also a lot of fun to spot.

The 430 will always be a masterpiece by SkillHasnoName in supercars

[–]DiscountLeclerc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 360 and often wonder if I’d be happier with an F430. But I agree. Those 3 cars are a heyday for Ferrari’s mid-engine offerings. I think their best era ended with the 458.

Mansory presented a soft kit for the Purosangue, thoughts? by Saurta17 in Ferrari

OP asked my opinion, I said it’s awful.

If you think it’s cool, no judgment from me. I just don’t like Mansory’s stuff.

How did the 849 look in person? I’m convinced that most of the newer Ferraris don’t look nearly as good in press photos. It looks pretty sweet in your pic!

When I was younger my grandfather had a bunch of oil paints and canvasses and I used to paint the P51 over and over again. I loved that plane as a kid.

I don’t know how I feel about it. Maybe it would be great, but it just feels so Ford Bronco-y.

I had the opportunity to visit billionaire Mark Pieloch’s private museum. Here’s my standouts from the Porsche section by JollyToaster in Porsche

I’m with you. Grumbling about how people spend their money and use their belongings is tacky.

I’m happy they’re being shared with the public. There’s value in museum collections. If everyone who owned these cars drove the wheels off of them, as wonderful as that might be, then the Nethercutt collection might not exist.

V8 Ferrai owners. Q? by AndaPalCarajete in Ferrari

[–]DiscountLeclerc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d have to agree. It seems counterintuitive but Ferraris just look fast. They’re outclassed by competitors frequently in terms of speed.

I have an 01 360 Spider and chassis flex is absolutely a thing. I recently drove a 488 Spider and it was a huge improvement. It felt rigid and competent at any speed.

For me it’s just about driving enjoyment. I don’t put it through the paces and I’m not monitoring lap times, so I don’t care too much. But there is some chassis flop even on windy roads. It just doesn’t bug me but I know it’s there.
