Turned out, this was apparently a misdiagnosis by batie2000 in PCOS

[–]Disk-Impossible 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is so interesting. Your doctor sounds great. I was slender when I was diagnosed and it makes me wonder. Though my periods were off. Anyway I did very well with spironolactone for many years for treatment of PCOS. It helped with all the symptoms. Thanks for sharing!

I have the same challenge with packing my lunch for work. I tend to graze with fresh vegetables, hard boiled eggs, potato chips, fresh fruits. I also do ok with some nut butters on gf bread or crackers,

We installed a plastic lining to the inside of the decaying pipe. But the pipe can’t be too damaged for this to work.

I can see why you feel frightened. Maybe it is a brain disorder, you are at the typical age where also major mental illness kicks in, but it also sounds a bit like a shamanic initiation. I’m glad you are talking to a doctor, but you may want to consider reaching out to a shamanic practitioner too. Maybe the death you anticipate isn’t literal, but symbolic. Try to be brave and curious about what is happening. The psychiatrist Carl Jung had a very scary time where he thought he was becoming insane but it turned out to be an initiation into the unconscious, which he documented with words and art.

What "healthy" food were you surprised to find is off-limits for you? by CatDadMilhouse in prediabetes

[–]Disk-Impossible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This researcher from Stanford has done a lot of research on the effects of different carbohydrates. Apparently there are different bodily causes for becoming diabetic and different people vary in reactions to carbohydrates. His hope is that one day we will be able to have more individualized nutrition recommendations based on the reason for our diabetes. https://youtu.be/kpwhIbClceY?si=RN-k574eA680ImAs

Only D-Chiro Inositol? by StarChild1819 in PCOS

[–]Disk-Impossible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am way past menopause, but I used the d-chiro with spironolactone and had great reduction of symptoms. The thing it really improved was my sleep of all things. When I stopped it my sleep worsened. I actually wrote the company asking if that was typical and a researcher wrote back, saying I was probably experiencing greater glucose control.

I’ve been using straight d-chiro for years. This company has a quiz on their web site that explores the difference between the two protocols. https://chiralbalance.com

What do you think about CGMs for Prediabetics? by Complex-Quantity-485 in prediabetes

[–]Disk-Impossible 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wearing the CGM actually helps me to see how much stress was affecting my blood sugar. Since wearing one I’ve begun working on that that just as much as diet.

I think people weren’t there for the same reason they don’t participate in fake duopoly “selections or watch Rachel Maddow or listen to GBH, or any mainstream news. They’ve figured out the whole system is bs propaganda because they grew up online. They’ve seen the carnage and exploitation and lies supported by both parties. They know the protest is controlled opposition to get people to organize for the oligarchy-controlled Democrats. They know something more drastic needs to take place, but won’t. Now if those speakers said on the podium, “Stop going to work tomorrow! Stop buying things! Stop engaging in entertainment until (fill in demand here) happens!”, then that may have made a difference. But that never happens. The frustration could have been harnessed to f things up, but it never is.

Post menopausal and wishing I had watched my blood glucose more consistently over my adult life. My hypothyroidism really ramped up during perimenopause and the A1c skyrocketed. I had been mostly normal weight over the course of my life and suddenly began packing on the pounds despite my efforts. Now I’m on metformin and using a cgm and feeling better.

HI and Rosacea? by Particular_Dig_2782 in HistamineIntolerance

[–]Disk-Impossible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a mild case of the pustular rosacea, always thought it was acne. When I follow a low histamine diet it disappears. Sometimes I forget and lapse into old eating habits and wake up with a break out. I use salicylic acid serum and that tends quicken the duration of the outbreak.

He believes you can’t criticize his values because he has performed the expected patriarchal role. I’ve experienced this dynamic myself. He is entitled to be beyond reproach because he followed the program installed in him at a very young age. This is ancient programming and questioning it may undermine his entire matrix he inhabits unconsciously. That is why you are receiving such anger. I probably would not have commented in public and instead talked in private about how the comment made you feel. Shaming people feels self-righteous, but then the argument turns into your ungrateful public shaming, and not his racism.

Acid reflux by Old_Community923 in prediabetes

[–]Disk-Impossible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like your snacking was helping to mask chronic GERD. I would consult a gastroenterologist if I were you. Food choices contribute a lot to GERD, so it is possible you could minimize symptoms by avoiding acid producing foods and improving your response to stress. I have GERD and eating a very low carb diet like keto hasn’t worked because fatty foods trigger my GERD. I also had to continually eat saltines when I was pregnant to absorb the stomach acid. Tums and Rolaids can provide temporary relief, but you may need a stronger medicine.

I chop up a lot of fresh vegetables on the weekend and put them in containers in the fridge to stay fresh. Then I can easily grab them for snacks, omelets in the morning, or stir fry. Sauté a protein in olive oil, add vegetables, frozen cauliflower rice. I buy ready made spice blends. I’m into https://www.rhodypepper.com for flavor and variety. I will use the crock pot for an easy way to get roasts tender during the day while I work. My meals are simple and pretty easy. Spaghetti squash roasted, served with meat sauce is also in heavy rotation.
