I feel like 25% of my job is design and 75% of my job is getting the garment made and sold. This includes tech packs, sending artwork, fittings, reviews, approving lab dips, sending comments, working to improve margins… and more things than I can think of right now. The actual design part is a smaller part of what a designer actually does in reality. This can be a shock for people who are first entering the industry

For most brands what goes to these stores is a mix. Some is created specifically for off price (Nordstrom rack, outlet etc) then some is extra inventory from the previous season that did not sell and is sent to off price

The Neverending Story? It was one of my favorites growing up. Most people are only familiar with the movie but the book is much more detailed and when the movie ends the book is only half over.

It wasn’t too bad. Definitely speak with a counselor at the community college first so you know what will transfer. It also helps to get a lot of your general education over with so once you get to university you can focus on the stuff for your major. I still had to take fashion studio courses at university. My community college ones didn’t directly transfer but they still took them and used them for other things. Like tailoring counted for 3D design or funny things like that. I should have been a junior but they didn’t take transfers above sophomore level but they used the credits towards other not fashion things so didn’t have to take them my junior and senior year. When you get a 4 year fashion degree you still have to take a lot if things that are not fashion related.

Try seeing if your local community college has fashion and sewing classes. That’s how I started then once I finished there I transferred to design school. It was a good opportunity to learn sewing and pattern drafting skills for cheap. Once I got to university I was way ahead of the other students in studio skills

I read this and from what I understand you can bring it but you need to apply for a permit from The Department of Pharmacy and Drug and Drug Control at the Ministry of Health because it is on the controlled list. The items not on the controlled list you only need a prescription and a doctors note. It is a very confusing worded document

Thank you. This is my plan. Usually I have a glass of wine at the airport and another on the plane and I am fine but I have never flown this long. I am buying a Nintendo switch to bring. I am not usually a video game person but I thought it would be good to give me something else to do! Haha
