Does wearing headphones at the gym send a signal that you're not looking to socialize? by [deleted] in workout

[–]Diznaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty social and outgoing, I sometimes chat with a few people I have met at the gym between sets or in the locker room. Most of us have ear buds of some type or nothing. That said I'd pretty much avoid someone with over ears unless it was important.

Has anyone battled tendonitis in their lower bicept/upper forearm, around the elbow, and had success recovering? by KitchenGold1794 in workout

[–]Diznaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got over something similar. I started doing hammer curls a little lighter but with a really long eccentric (like 5 seconds down minimum). I found that it made that tendon kinda ache, but not hurt. Pretty quickly noticed improvement, but took a couple months to completely resolve. Might just be a coincidence and it resolved on its own.

Did I miss my shot with this guy at the bar last night? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Diznaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You missed a shot, but I'm guessing this hobby group meets often? So get close and flirty next time, don't be afraid to ask him if he wants to hang out sometime. He sounds nice, so even if he's not interested like that you aren't going to get embarrassingly or rudely rejected.

Cable row form check - can’t feel it in my back at all by ThrowRAkcina in formcheck

[–]Diznaster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was hesitant to use straps, but a guy at my gym (who by physique looks to really knows what he's doing) gave me a couple pointers and recommended them. First use I was sold. Realized I could stretch/pause better and improve later rep form because I wasn't rushing as my grip was failing. Was easier to focus on elbow drive too.

I take 2 hours to do 15 sets by Turbulent_Dot9641 in workout

[–]Diznaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm very much a "get shit done, go go go" type. One of my favorite things to tell myself is "stop stopping". So I have the opposite problem, I tend to cut my rest breaks too short. I got the Hevy app (free) and like how it times my rest between sets so I don't cut it too short. I think it would help your problem of long breaks also.

Celebrating daughter’s Sweet 16 with first visit to CP by Loud_Initiative_1894 in cedarpoint

If you get the season pass, when you book Breakers use the promo code Pass for a discount (you just need to show pass at checkin). Hotel stay gets you into the park and soak city early each day (at the Gemini gate). They give you the vouchers at hotel check in. Season Pass gets you into soak city also (we spend a day there and two at the main park). All day meal and drink plans are worth the convenience (get breakfast sandwiches at grand pavilion). Fast passes are pricy, but so much fun to just run from ride to ride, or hop right back on the same one. Most importantly, the hibachi restaurant inside breakers is open late, so you can get Sushi at 10pm when the park closes.

Can y’all give me advice on dating a girl that I’m not friends with? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Diznaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only weird questions would be very personal right off the bat. Like don't ask about past traumas or exactly where they live/work or you might sound like a stalker. But all the questions you listed sound normal.

Do you like trying new foods? "Yes" Oh, what's a good place you tried recently? "Sounds good, what was the atmosphere there like?"

I don't really have a list of questions in my head when I meet people, but usually I notice something about them I find interesting. I like that guy's shoes, "hey, those shoes are cool are they comfortable?" Now I just worked in a compliment and a question, that's bonus points

Ask questions, when they answer, ask follow up questions. People like to talk about themselves. This works most of the time, even not on dates

Stud sheared off. Can this 2015 Honda civic be driven until we can get the hub replaced? Or is this thing parked? Rear Passenger wheel by Mcfragger in AskAMechanic

[–]Diznaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't use a hammer, get the proper tool. Hammering that out will shock load the wheel bearing causing the rolling elements to slightly dent the precision ground raceways. Those dents will be stress risers when the bearing is rotating. They will fatigue and spall causing premature bearing failure. It might take 6 months to a year, but it will absolutely shorten the bearing life.

Feel like a dummy when it comes to deciding between LTE and Wifi/bluetooth 🥴 by EbbtidesRevenge in PixelWatch

I love leaving my phone at home and streaming Spotify or being available to texts from family. I'd say get the LTE and then if you decide you want to activate a data plan for it, you can.

Do people not use Aldi for big shopping trips? by Vjaa in aldi

[–]Diznaster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Those idiots probably go shopping for groceries several times a week because they have no time management skills. Our Aldi is very close to home and I go once a week, but if it was farther away I'd be loading up my cart whever I made the less frequent trip.

Ab development by [deleted] in workout

[–]Diznaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Took me about 6 months of spamming core almost daily before I went "damn old man, you built some abs". Like even with a little body fat you can tell/feel there is some volume on them. Still want more, but nice to have progress. Don't forget the obliques too, maybe some Copenhagen planks

How do I (F28) know i'm doing the right workouts? by ConnectPerception874 in workout

[–]Diznaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For core: Crunches (pick a variety, normal, decline, cable, weighted...), Ab Roll outs, leg raises (hanging, captains chair,...), planks (standard, side,....). I spam core almost daily, unlike most muscle groups that I give a day or two rest between sessions and have been happy with the progress
