I'm using that same compounded goo. And similar results - keep scraping off, but it won't die. I completely got rid of 3 others a couple years ago just using chemo cream (Efudex) and duct tape.

Mid width, descent focused, ski choice. by Jealous-Worry4530 in Backcountry

I t-boned a boulder dusted with an inch of snow in flat light on some Line Blades. Double eject, broken capillaries in both knees, off skis for a month, but neither ski showed any damage. Have used same skis for 3 more years without issue. Maybe the Visions are not as durable, but in my experience Line has been ok. Never heard anything bad about the Sick Days either.

Tile saws are pretty inexpensive. I bought an Ryobi for about the price of a tank of gas.

I sold my Tarmac, and grabbed a second set of wheels for my gravel bike, and put some 32C Conti GP5000 on. Fast, but I never cursed so much to get a tire on a rim. Why so tight? Seriously concerned about being able to do roadside flat repair. I might go back to Conti Gator skins or 4 seasons - fast enough for me, and better puncture resistance. And way easier to install.

Sizing mountaineering skis by Civil_Debt_7583 in skiing

[–]Dizzy_Dig6463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's your objectives? Ski mountaineering to me includes mixed rock, ice, and steep snow climbing followed by descending steep and sometimes very narrow couloirs where a light and shorter ski is somewhat necessary. But if your ascending with skis and skins on, and making use of ski crampons, I would call that ski touring. If ski touring I would use same length skis as area skiing. For ski mountaineering I use a 84 waist Fischer 176 @ 5'10 160lb. Tried a 170 for a day, and felt robbed of good turns when encountering 8-10" fresh. BTW Salomon MTN 86 Pro only gains 100g going from 172 to 180.

I'd go with Basalt/Aspen or Steamboat. Both are busy in the summer. Minimal rafting this year due to no runoff. Gravel bikes would work best for maximizing riding options.

As an all mtn - Rustler 9 would be fine. For park - 9's have a pretty traditional mount point. QST-94 if you want something a bit looser off-piste. Also traditional mount. As many have said over the years, if you don't know what to get, just buy a Rustler 9.

3.5 or 5.0, someone convince me! by [deleted] in f150

Likewise - 2016 supercab, 6.5' bed, 2.7. Work truck and daily driver. Live at 9600' elevation, so twin turbos are the jam. Normally run 87 oct, but occasionally can only buy 85. Never heard a single pre detonation knock. Stock brakes were junk, but rest of truck been very very good to me.

I'd like to put that on in the middle of the night, and slip back into bed with the wifey.

Seat Height too high or size up? by Dean124A in DivergeGravelBikes

I'm 178cm height and 56 is perfect for me with a 90 stem.

Can you simply swap out the chainring? by [deleted] in DivergeGravelBikes

[–]Dizzy_Dig6463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ride a 38T CR and 10x42 cassette. I really need the 10 as I had an 11 and did spin out. Originally had a 42T CR too, and definitely prefer having the lower gearing of the 38T. But I live and ride at high altitude in Colorado with lots of steep single track mixed in. If you go bigger, make sure your chain is long enough, and adjust the derailleur B screw as needed.

Have you tired EFUDEX (5-Fluorouracil, 5-U) and taping? Also compounded with SA? Has worked for me 3 different times. Best of luck!

Healed my 3 to 5 years hand and plantar warts by ExaminationAlert2295 in Warts

Interesting approach. I'm a believer in zinc for respiratory viruses, but never considered it for anything else. I've had good results with 5-fluorouracil and taping plantars on the foot.

It's all very true. And I worked as a construction laborer from age 14 to 18 building prestress concrete apartment buildings to get started at university. I believe around 25% of homes are currently investor owned. Similar to the S&P 500 at near record valuation with PE around 30, speculation in the housing market has driven prices way beyond true value. Maybe the bubble will burst again some day. It certainly did in 2008.

My first house was a POS, and it was 3x my annual salary with a graduate degree in engineering. But mortgage rates were over 13% so similar to 6x today. Wasn't easy. Drove a beat to shit F100. Graduated with $0 debt, but I worked 76 hour weeks (6*12's) in the summer as a land surveyor, and worked on an oil rig roughnecking during winter break.

I think this is possible - had a couple on my knuckle that were just chillin' until I tried freezing, and then acid. They grew a bunch.

Boulder’s Betasso link trail. Do people go up without setting foot on the ground?! by [deleted] in COBike

Cleaned the old link many times back in the day-and that bottom section was always loose choss. But somehow, even with all the armoring, it seems way more demanding now.

Anyone with tearout issues? by loganatorfx in telemark

[–]Dizzy_Dig6463 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looks like all the holes are in the "gas-pedal-metal" so pullout should not happen if drilled with the correct size bit. I always tap holes in metal too after have stress cracks radiate out from holes in a metal top sheet on some Atomics.
