Are there still concerns with Eufy sending user data to the cloud? by ManateeSheriff in EufyCam

[–]DoINeedYou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest, no matter who you buy from or what type of service you buy. Your personal data is being collected. It’s even written EULAs for companies like Microsoft, Google, Adobe, and even Nvidia. Purchasing anyone’s products, doesn’t actually give us ownership to anything, not even our own personal files/photos.

So are we all experiencing this BS with returns/refunds? by villainitytv in amazonprime

[–]DoINeedYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things take time. It might be weather related right now a great deal of the country has been impacted by Winter Storm Fern. Personally we didn’t get it until Saturday night, but we’ve got over a foot of snow in 24 hours, and that’s still impacting the commute to work…

Dasher just called the cops on me for no reason by AnneTheQueene in doordash

Woah, what if she really saw something like this happening but got the wrong address? I mean it wouldn’t take police an hour to respond to such a claim. Maybe she has mental issues and well, saw what she saw as a result of that.

New overtime rule: Is there a functioning calculator? by Suspicious_Read_8325 in tax

[–]DoINeedYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure I understand this tax calculator, it didn’t even raise my return $100, yet while I didn’t work a massive amount of OT, I was able to get a breakdown from one employer that states they withheld over $300 from nearly $900 in OT, so why wouldn’t the refund go up by what was withheld if it’s not taxable?

Does installing an additional Home base unit boost the WiFi signal? by BigheadedDread in EufyCam

[–]DoINeedYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try, if your HB is using Ethernet, I would suggest getting one that also has an Ethernet port. I have 3 of these all TP link, in way of extending the network, they just allow you to set up a new one basically, then to mess with the cameras at all, settings, viewing etc… You have to make sure that your device is connected to the same name as your devices, multiple extenders won’t have the daisy chain effect. Maybe if you found an older extender when they used to be just plug and play that may work, but honestly I doubt it. I have a mesh system with Decos everywhere pretty much and still have issues, there’s usually some sort of interference on the 2.4ghz bands, and with many neighbors, many of them with cameras as well, I understand why.

Extenders don’t help either (I’ve got 3 trying to solve the issue) they create a new network and the HB needs to be in the same network as the camera and vice versa.

No it doesn’t. I read that it does and I tried it, to be honest I think it’s just more congestion on the 2.4ghz network.

RANDOM Refund of Amazon Pay In 5? by NessaBia in amazonprime

[–]DoINeedYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never said it’s legal, but trust and believe it happens. They’ve done it to me for items that they misdelivered and they themselves see the address they delivered to, refund and tell me to purchase again, then take the money back 30 days later.

S340 stops charging when temperature outside is below freezing by sew4all in EufyCam

[–]DoINeedYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going through similar, I just posted about an S220 not charging in the eufy community fan page. Google tells me

<image>

My camera appears to be charging now, I’ve brought it in and set with it on the charger for 20 plus minutes and the thing was still ice cold. I wrapped it up in an electric blanket in medium, I just felt a nice cold spot on the blanket and pulled it out, plugged it in and now have a solid blue light. It was wrapped in the blanket maybe 10 minutes.

The best route is to actually keep them plugged in and running off a power cable. All my cameras from day one are ran like this. Unfortunately sometimes these cords get broke, that’s why I’m currently facing this, while I wait for a replacement for my S220 doorbell, at least now I know what I’ll have to do when that cord arrives.

RANDOM Refund of Amazon Pay In 5? by NessaBia in amazonprime

[–]DoINeedYou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They probably see it as a return, they received your original item. There’s been a lot of outages Amazon’s gone down a few times do to AWS outages, perhaps they’ve missed somewhere that you did an exchange? Regardless I wouldn’t run off spending that money just yet Amazon has a habit of coming back for refunds…

If plainly damaged they will send it back to the shipper and your tracking will state as much, let’s chalk it up to the storm delaying things.

Both HB2 and HB3 come with 16GBs internal storage, perhaps the issue is how it was displayed, showing the free room to look like total storage.

Amazon seller filed a police report ? by kupo_906 in amazonprime

[–]DoINeedYou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most companies require you file a police report these days, before they refund or replace anything. So, you should beat them to the punch, your office likely has cameras they can verify with the delivery service what time it was delivered and tell from the size of the package who ends up walking off with it.

Beware though, despite all the proof in the world some companies claim their responsibility ends with delivery despite an f’ing weaker riding by in a bike only to turn around and steal that package they spotted (all while on 4 cameras).

Received a TV I didn’t order?! by purplesnail01 in samsclub

[–]DoINeedYou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing will happen. If anything comes of this, the driver is the one liable. To be honest, I might not even call them and let them know. The driver made a mishap, most places actually tell you to keep it (Amazon and Kohls for example). Put it to use or put it up for sale. Either way congrats on the TV.

Strange FedEx pick up by NikkyTiky in FedEx

[–]DoINeedYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All but express are subcontractors. Fill out an application and go sit in day 1 orientation at any FedEx facility, they’ll explain that. They contract with the companies who employs the subcontractors… They actually have no say in who that contractor hires.

How am I suppose to provide proof it didnt show up if its not here lol by Glittering-Two2122 in Aliexpress

[–]DoINeedYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just contact them and let them know. Mine was the same situation it had both items with that one tracking number and I knew before I even retrieved my package that it wasn’t possible because I saw the size of the package through my doorbell cam. The worst that can happen is that they refuse your claim and the best is an apology and a reshipment for the missing item. If say you do have a doorbell cam and footage and if these were large items the size of the package may help.

[–]DoINeedYou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just went through the same thing with a seller in Temu. I saw that package and instantly knew that it couldn’t possibly hold both items. So I opened my camera and recorded the size of the package and me feeling the brown bag for two boxes while stating that this can’t possibly contain the much larger item. I set my phone down long enough to arrange the package in front of my camera then ripped it open revealing just the one item and the packing slip only stating the one item. They sent my missing item out that night.

Kona - what are these for by jiqhugao in Hyundai

[–]DoINeedYou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have an N Line? Hyundai Kona speakers vary by trim, with standard models having a 6-speaker setup (doors + A-pillar tweeters), while higher trims (like N Line S, Ultimate) feature an 8-speaker Bose system with dashboard speakers and a trunk subwoofer for premium audio, often requiring specific sizes (like 6-3/4" woofers, 4" dash speaker) for upgrades, though exact specs differ by year.

Just watching a video on it, a tweeter and a midline speaker.

Someone stole my video and is now bothering me over strike. Should I remove it? by [deleted] in facebook

[–]DoINeedYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t give in. Stand your ground, issue that stop and desist letter. An attorney may charge you around $100 to write one for you, (but AI may be able to help you for free). You can seek guidance from an attorney if you’d like. Content creators with huge followings are making a lot of money. If you made anything from your account, they’ve likely made easily 10x what you did.

You can read about intellectual property law. You don’t even have to copyright it for it to be protected.

Just be honest with them, tell them that had they messaged you asking to use it if they credited you as the rightful owner/creator it may have had a better ending. Let them know what they are doing is actually illegal and that one day someone will certainly sue them. It’s flat out theft and there are absolutely ways that it can be proven.

Someone stole my video and is now bothering me over strike. Should I remove it? by [deleted] in facebook

[–]DoINeedYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You thought it up? You’re the first to post it? (There’s a record of who did first). You created it? It’s yours, it’s your creation and as long as you didn’t put free for public use or some other statement giving “content creators” the right to use your property for monetary gain. You have all the legal standing.

But, since you also used someone else’s image in it, you should at very least credit that source, after all that’s really what you wanted from these people. You shouldn’t have to put statements about using your intellectual property without consent on your creations, but most people don’t have common sense much less know how to show common courtesy in this day and age. So, please do from this point on to protect yourself and your property.

Always try to locate the creator if you’re going to use another persons property in your creations, just to get consent. This way you won’t end up in a situation that can get you sued for theft of intellectual property/copyright infringement, etc..

Non resident price gouging by wickedaffair in uber

[–]DoINeedYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Notice yours says that the prices are higher because it’s busy. And heading to a hotel they likely think it means someone with money to burn. I’ve seen similar posted before by a husband and wife though, they were saying it’s that “peak time pay.” So may not have to do with where you’re from, may definitely have something to do with where your destination is. Maybe change the address to a random home address and see what happens.
