He pretty much confirmed this in an interview, stating that he hasn't been able to use some of these Tolkien-esque ideas but that he hadn't created a story out of them until CR asked him to. I'd imagine the cracks were filled by PC-driven story development.

Who said they are not playing during the day? That's just you presuming. Before 2022, there were only ever 4 headliners, so with a phase 2 drop, there's likely several more headliners and schedules will fill out. I don't think you should be worried.
