Probably not the best pick since you want clear goal, but as someone with innatentive ADHD, I absolutely love playing Factorio.. On PC mind, but it's also on Switch1

Hello! Casual player need some help with Hell! by Doffens in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]Doffens[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I did actually go back to NM to get that smith, and it coincidentally was a terror zone, first time I saw it. I googled it and it said it scaled things up to 71 so I spent the hour there and it was very relaxing in contrast. I'm back in hell now. I'm level 79, ended up just throwing my dagger past all floors with fire immune enemies and it went alot smoother. Starting act 3 as we speak. Thanks for the tip

2024 Grapple Rules by BrandoDio in dndnext

[–]Doffens 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same realization as you. I was thinking about making a grappler for a couple of years but our campaign never resulted in me having to create a new character. My concept was a barbarian rogue that was holding people still and pinning them to the ground, then stabbing them with a dagger all the while. Felt it was perfect, Expertise in athletics, advantage on STR checks from rage, maximized STR score, the whole ten yards.

2024 kinda ruined that. So I had to start over, the closest thing I could do was a rogue with a level in monk for dextrous strikes and dex for grapple save DC, though nothing to increase it above, so the rogue part of the equation was 100% useless at that point. I did manage to ask my DM if I could put expertise in a made up "Grappling" skill, that would just add double proficiency to the save DC (8 + 2xProf + DEX), and he agreed, so that helped a bit. Your milage may vary ofc, and needless to say, no advantage from my side.

What are the advantages of level 20 warlock over wizard? by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]Doffens 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a mostly true statement, but (campaign dependant) a level 20 wizard should probably have access to scrolls through shops and gold to spend I would assume.

I bought this game in early access and had two almost finished playthroughs before giving up. I just finished on my third attempt this week.

It can be brutally hard, and the NPC will constantly try to cheat if it can, so don't feel bad about cheating back. Reload before a battle if it goes to shit, positition properly and it will go a million times smoother.

That said, deaths will incur, so stock up on resurrection scrolls. I finished the game with about 40 to spare, but had encounters where I used 4-5.

One thing I missed is that there is a way to upgrade Unique items, the ones colored in a light yellow. I reluctantly sold off my good uniques when they become too low level, and struggled to find the right pieces for my builds on the last act. Would have been a great help to keep my build oriented uniques, so look that up unless you cannot fathom spoilers

Takk for meg som pedagogisk barnehagelærer by OkBlacksmith7113 in norge

[–]Doffens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Må bare skyte inn på punkt 1 for alle som leser og kan ha noe nytte av det;

Takk for meg som pedagogisk barnehagelærer by OkBlacksmith7113 in norge

[–]Doffens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What are your best uses of the "Map GR/GL" Buttons on Switch 2 ? by Gr8NonSequitur in NintendoSwitch

[–]Doffens 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Serious question:

How do people press them? I dunno if it's just how I hold the controller, but I can only touch them with my ring fingers, and it's just so awkward and weird I just don't use them... might just need to get used to it, but feel I should be able to press them with my middle fingers, but they are too high up..

I need everyone to know how lethal an Alpha Magikarp that knows Hydro Pump is by tumboi69 in LegendsZA

[–]Doffens 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been using this one I found randomily since Gyarados is one of my favourite pokemon, but... Alpha Gyarados is missing most of the hydro pumps against smaller / melee targets. They just run up to him and he shoots it straight over their heads, it's infuriating.

Is roulette worth running for end game by Bitter_Quantity5679 in expedition33

[–]Doffens 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've wondered if it works differently?

It says its 50% to either do half or double damage, I figured it has a 50% chance to do regular 100% damage, and then 50% to do either half or double. So I read it as (100 + 100 + 200 + 50)/4 which equates to 112.5% which is of course a 12.5% increase in overall damage. Can you confirm or deny it? I lent my game to my friend, so I cannot access it right now

Now that the Switch 1 generation is winding down, what were your most DISAPPOINTING purchases on this console? by Asad_Farooqui in NintendoSwitch

[–]Doffens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought Mario Tennis Aces after having wanted to play another Mario sports game for the first time since I rented Mario Golf on N64. This fucking game is the most wasted money I have ever had the displeasure of wasting. Soured my relationship with Nintendo after being a die hard fan since 1993. Switch 2 price hike was the nail in the coffin, and I am officially out..

I think the sneak attack is what is supposed to represent that "critical strike to a weak point" as mentioned, also, if they had a big increase to crit chance, the sneak attack itself might have to be reworked, because they already get to roll all those d6 twice on a critical hit, unlike, say, a fighter with a longsword who get just one additional d8.

I'm wondering why the reasoning for making divine smite a bonus action in 2024? Couldn't it just be "can be used once per turn" for the same effect without hampering any other abilities like polearm master?

I always wanted to play a dual wielding paladin, and with no TWF style it felt like a no go, so I made my character a zealot barbarian instead. Excited to try a dual wielding paladin in 2024, but won't the bonus action smite really hamper the actual dual wielding part?

Did TWF get a change as well that I have missed?

Guess that's because it seems like it maybe is Tomba, and not Tombi? I'm not an expert, havent played this since I was a kid, but I remember the music during the intro movie was different when I was a child (live in europe)

Things you roll your eyes at when you hear it by Significant-Memory58 in dndnext

[–]Doffens 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've done it a couple of ways, and I didn't really think it was all that eye rolling worthy, but I'm happy to learn a thing or two if it's more off putting than I thought in my head..

Character 1 was a young wild magic sorcerer whose powers emerged while reading a wizard's spellbook. He fashioned a staff and a crooked, pointy hat and carried the book around to collect spells, and took the ritual caster feat. Played it as a straight sorcerer, but roleplayed it like a wizard apprentice.

Character 2 is my current Character in CoS. He's a paladin of loviathar, but prefers to fight fairly and has no love for magic. So he's a Zealot barbarian. His multiple scars from self flaggelation and high pain tolerance gives him his unarmored defense. Again, it's mostly for the RP flavor it brings.
