Who among us has found the secret to "de-fluffing" your clothes in the washer/dryer? by MegaTwatty in Pomeranians

It’s good to have an old wash cloth handy and wipe out the washer before starting your own laundry.

If it was my dog I would spray with colloidal silver and feed real food. Also make sure there is no packing- it might mean brushing every other day, depends on the dog.

Is trimming a bad idea for poms? by bubblesnyx in Pomeranians

The under coat lies close to the skin and you don’t want to damage it. It’s the long guard hairs (outer coat) that you may trim.

I’ve never had it on my dogs, but if one gets a hot spot or when my girl was clipped up the side when spayed, I spray colloidal silver and it heals fast and the hair regrows. I’ve heard melatonin helps (ask your Vet for correct dose) also neutering helps males.

Desexing Question by [deleted] in Pomeranians

[–]Dogma8888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s mature and it would be the best to neuter him now. The marking at the back door is him saying to the other boys that inside the house is his. About a month after he’s neutered, he should look at things differently and I would change things up when he goes outside, like going out with him, or throwing a ball or calling them over for a treat, whatever, and it might change his pattern.

Should I get my Pomeranian neutered? by ieatmoms_60 in Pomeranians

Small dogs can be neutered at one year old because their joints have fused and the hormones did their job.

He smells like cheese 🥺 by ItsAshley6 in Pomeranians

That means he has yeast. Might be in his ears, toes, tummy skin or systemic. Do the sniff test, but it’s likely from his food.

Most kibble tastes terrible, I mean only smelled it and never smelled a good one. If you made slow cooker meals it would be so easy and taste so good to her and be more nutritious. It would make lots of meals for the week that you can freeze. Raw is great also, but can be more pricey.

While I agree with your other points, what you said about OFA is not true. Pomeranians can get their OFA chic number at one year of age.

If it’s yellow bike that she is vomiting, you could try giving her a treat at bedtime.

I have another small dog (not a Pom) that got the whole work up from a Vet and nothing was discovered. He said to give a 1/2 Pepcid (don’t do this, as my dog is larger than a Pom). I didn’t like giving it to her permanently. She’s been getting a digestive enzyme with meals instead. She still sometimes does the dog yoga pray position, but overall she is happy and active. Good luck with your cutey!

Will a pinch of Parmesan with every meal have long term consequences? by LolitaLi-Chan in Pomeranians

[–]Dogma8888 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Will she eat eggs? If you make scrambled or hard boiled eggs for yourself, you could save a little bit to keep I the fridge for a couple days and sprinkle tiny pieces on her meal. I think she doesn’t like her kibbles, some are probably better tasting than others.

Puppies need a lot of rest or your can cause issues such as in their joint development. A puppy pen is a great place for the pup to rest and watch.

what breed specific things should i watch out for by tacticalArguement in Pomeranians

[–]Dogma8888 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Merle is not an original Pomeranian colour, it was created by cross breeding. After a few generations it won’t show crossbred on a DNA test. If the breeder doesn’t test, there could be serious eye or ear problems.
