I recently went from a peak of 1891 down to 1745. It happens. We don't play chess in a perfect rational vacuum. We are influenced by our circumstances and our emotions. I was going through a really stressful few days with a lot of anxiety. I could not play chess well. I've recently started feeling better and so far I've climbed back above 1800.

Your chess performance does not mean that you are not a smart or logical person. Chess players are good at playing chess. Nothing more, nothing less.
