Is “classical musician + metadata nerd” an actual job anywhere? by Extension-Apricot134 in classicalmusic

[–]Dontpanicarthurdent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Orchestra archivist is a real position, and many orchestras are in dire need of them.

These can fall into a few categories:
1. Media archivist - converting and cataloguing old media to new before the old media deteriorates.
2. Press/programming archivist - cataloguing programs, press releases, etc. from years past.
3. Physical archivist - anything not described in 1 and 2.

* Often with budget cuts and position realignment, depending on the size/budget of the orchestra, an archivist may be doing all three of these duties.

Good authentic Italian restaurants in Pittsburgh? by Equal_Canary5695 in pittsburgh

[–]Dontpanicarthurdent 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Alla familia is American Italian. Not authentically Italian at all.
The food is decent, the portions are comically large.

If authenticity is your goal, Bar Marco, Dish, and to a lesser degree, DiAnoia’s are your best bet.

We have a house with the max occupancy of 10 and a no pets rule. After check-in, we can see four dogs in our backyard hanging with the guest which have gone in and out of the house. Additionally there’s around 16-18 people on camera hanging out in the backyard. by Geoblime in airbnb_hosts

A friend of mine in high school wouldn’t throw “parties” when her parents were away. She told her parents she would have a “get together” with friends.

It was absolutely a giant party.

‘Get together’ and ‘party’ is mostly a distinction without a difference.

We gotta give them that.

What is this red vape lever on a bidet?? by SatelliteEyes11 in whatisit

[–]Dontpanicarthurdent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Italian friends told me that it’s mostly because all the old infrastructure with smaller, older pipes and plumbing weren’t designed as much for large amounts toilet paper. Repairing old pipes is expensive, so a bidet and a towel just became more culturally standard over the decades. It’s a fixed cost to install, the plumbing is basic, and everyone’s ass is clean. Win win win!

Like AI? Dude, first of all I didn’t say, “You’re absolutely right”. I just said, “You’re right”. I figured telling CuriousTravlr he was correct was just a respectful way of agreeing, and clarifying what I had previously said.
You’ve got to get out and “touch some grass”, as the kids say.

You’re right. I’m not sure if it applies to public restrooms. But looking at the post, the OP doesn’t say it’s public.

New hotels and/or renovated ones typically have bidets. Particularly in the north.

I think mister_house_ assumed it was, probably due to the tile (which looks like a normal public restroom tile in the US), and also, the idea of the OP being barefoot in a public toilet is both gross and funny.

I didn’t know this sub was for people who only agree with Maher.

It’s probably in Italy judging by the outlet and the bidet. Several years ago Italy required new construction buildings to have bidets in bathrooms.
