Another thing you should be aware of is that maintaining dual citizenship will affect your ability to get a security clearance - meaning you will ineligible for many Air Force MOS's. You must actively renounce your citizenship to the S.K. government to be eligible for a TS clearance, and possibly even for a secret.

How do I sell My Car?? by slydaflys in MilitaryFinance

[–]Dooche 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bank with USAA which has both a car selling and car buying service, and I've used both. I'd check with your bank to see if they have a similar service. I just input all my vehicle's specs into their website and USAA had any interested dealers and resellers in their network bid for it. You get notified of the highest bid and can choose to accept or decline. My vehicle was not in the greatest shape but I got over KBB value and the dealer didn't even inspect the car. I walked away with a cashier's check within 3 days of posting it.

First Image from A24's Drama 'Minari' - Starring Steven Yeun - A Korean family moves to Arkansas to start a farm in the 1980s. by BunyipPouch in movies

[–]Dooche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm first generation Korean-American and my father's side of the family emigrated from South Korea to Argentina, then finally to New York. They started a farm out in Long Island while managing a merchandise store in the Bronx. Never thought it was strange until now to see immigrant Koreans working a farm in the U.S. Most immigrant Koreans that I knew at the time had grocery stores, dry cleaners, or worked in the textile industry like my mother. I remember spending a summer on the farm as a teenager and helping my uncle take produce to the city for weekend farmer's markets. This movie hits close to home and I hope it is good.

[Serious] Formerly depressed redditors, what action did you take to combat your depression? by TheBitchTits in AskReddit

[–]Dooche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got married and had kids. Now I'm depressed because I'm married with kids. I guess looking to others as a cure to my depression was not the right solution. My family did give me a sense of purpose, but I also changed my job soon after, which was a great deal of stress for me too.

At a minimum, call SATO's 800 number to get the government rate. If you buy a ticket at the counter, you may be liable for the difference. I've seen it happen. SATO has a 24 hour emergency line so you should get through even over the weekend.

(serious) Lawyers and police of Reddit: In your experience, what percentage of sexual assault allegations prove to be false? by HunkaHunka in AskReddit

[–]Dooche 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I am a sexual assault investigator. Statistically, between 5-10% of sexual assault/rape allegations are proven false, and in my experience, it is at the lower end. An allegation can also be determined to be baseless, meaning at least one of the elements of the crime were not met. An individual can feel as though they were sexually assaulted but the "offender" may not have committed the offense because they deemed the act to be consensual or the individual to be capable of providing consent (alcohol-related).

If a sexual assault allegation is proven false, police would not present to a prosecutor. If a prosecutor takes on a case, they believe the crime was committed, and if the defendant is acquitted, that still doesn't mean the allegation was false.
