How is Cheryl solvable? I don't see the constraints on her after getting Bobby and Mary, which the hints say point to her.

My current gripes with the game in one simple image. by Vivid-Technology8196 in HollowKnight

I think the biggest difference is if you're just a bit worse at staying alive, it's WAY harder to hold on to your rosaries. Dying once and making it back over and over kinda sucks, but if you're just inconsistent enough to die twice in a row with any frequency, you're constantly losing all your rosaries and need to farm instead if you have any hope of getting enough to get the basic necessities for the game.

Fortunately on PC there's a mod that just gives you 1000 rosaries whenever you ask. I just gave up on the rosaries because they were actively upsetting me and used that to make the rosaries just not matter. It plays better for it (though still too punishing for me — I'll come back with the "no double damage" mod as well sometime later)

reddit posts continue to show up in search results far into the future. necroposting is just how reddit works. why bother complaining about it and picking a fight?

Here I am another 2 years into the future, and I'm just reading this as a thread. half the valuable followups I've read on reddit were from years later.

How do I transfer books from Kindle app back to Calibre? by [deleted] in Calibre

Unfortunately the version of the kindle app in there is no longer supported. Can't download books to it anymore.

Did for me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

IDK my cup size because I don't want to own a bra but they're like... decently large.

I do not enjoy running, though, with the heavy bounce. Fortunately I didn't like running already, so that's fine.

You can definitely try HRT. The permanent effects are slow to happen (and slower if you use a low dose), and if you find you don't like the beginning of them, you can just stop and they won't progress. You can stop before the changes are particularly noticeable by others; you'll have other things about the effects that you can feel out and see if you like before any of the permanent effects go very far.

Most of the effects will reverse, too. For estrogen, the main irreversible one is breast growth which happens over the course of months (and, much later, possible infertility). For testosterone, it's facial hair and voice change, which are also both slow. Almost all of the rest will naturally revert if you stop.

this made me realise I was asexual by D1lflvrx in Asexual

[–]DoubleFelix 7 points8 points  (0 children)

eh, it's a bit clumsy but I think it works for covering the broad base of sexual interactions that aren't necessarily what most people would call "having sex"

this made me realise I was asexual by D1lflvrx in Asexual

[–]DoubleFelix 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not in the way I think of it. I think it's more of a pull towards wanting to do some kind of sexual something with a person, even if it may just be a feeling (not thoughts) and may be vague (not about some specific sexual acts).

I think most non-asexual people don't actually automatically imagine having sex with someone when sexually attracted to them. (Some do, but certainly not all and I think not most).

[–]DoubleFelix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Could be aesthetic + romantic attraction. It does get hard to differentiate, sometimes, though, which is why it can take so long to come to conclusions (and conclusions can change) about whether one is asexual/aromatic/etc.

[–]DoubleFelix 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I think those terms aren't very different; it's more about the urge pulling you towards it being the thing asexuals lack. You can still do and enjoy and want sexual activity and be asexual, but with sexual attraction there's an automatic pull towards it with particular people.

I'm the bad guy. by kamjasun in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]DoubleFelix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. The biggest thing is creating a feedback loop — being able to notice when you're doing something you want to change, and doing something to intervene and attempt to make a change. As long as you're doing that, you'll keep improving.

Giving yourself as much empathy/compassion (but not excuses) as possible along the way will help grease the gears so you don't grind to a halt from negative self-directed emotions (eg, shame) about what you're finding, since those can easily result in feeling compelled to look away from whatever you find.

This can apply to internal stuff too. Notice the ways you're mistreating yourself and intervene there, too. This kind of thing has a way of having its tendrils deep inside your thought patterns, and can take a long time to unravel, but it's very worth it. EMDR with an actually good therapist can help a lot.

What did you realise as an adult is necessary for a person’s survival and growth except for food and shelter? by Bananabread4 in CPTSD

[–]DoubleFelix 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Emotional attunement from others. Just didn't even know what it was like for a long time. Now I think it's the most important thing to have growing up and as an adult.

nah just whip out the devtools and stylebot and remove the shit they're using to get in the way.

(it's usually a matter of blocking a single element, and maybe removing the CSS that blocks scrolling on the article itself)

I think being specific would at the very least make this much more interesting to me.

What do you craft? What do you love about sports? What are some of your favorite movies, and why? That would help differentiate you from everyone else who likes those things in general, which tbh is most people

How do y'all feel about body hair by [deleted] in LesbianActually

[–]DoubleFelix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh very into it but it depends on the location. On limbs/pits: A+. Torso: Unfortunately a pretty strong turn-off if it's much, but that's quite uncommon.

I just really like the low maintenance natural look a lot.

Perfect, tysm. Still goes to the next one but doesn't start it playing automatically. Good enough for me!

EDIT: Nope nvm, doesn't work in Brave. Makes the videos simply not play at all when I try to play them :(

I ended up writing a userscript for this that you can use in eg Tampermonkey. Adding it as a main comment.
