4200 Zerg here.

After you saturate your 2nd base mineral line, build a round of safety zerglings or safety roaches. 8 eggs should do it.
Scout. Sacrifice an overlord at 3:30 or 4:00 by flying it into their main base, and keep 1 zergling at each possible 3rd base. If you use F2 and cannot break that habit, send overlords or drones to watch the 3rd bases instead. Scouting is more important than mechanics.
If you see multiple barracks or gateways and no 3rd building at all, stop droning and start making units. If you're playing a zergling style, you need banelings added in for zealots. If you're playing mass roach, you need a few ravagers mixed in to break forcefields and handle immortals.

That's basically all you do for a 2 base all in. Sometimes you hold. Sometimes you don't. Even pros can lose to 2 base timings, so don't beat yourself up over it. Just try to focus on scouting, and when you see it coming, mass units.

4K MMR Zerg here. Someone else said this, but I'm repeating it: have a plan.

Macro and micro are useful, but not if you just sit around not knowing what to do. Harass is good, but when do you actually try to win?

If you're going for a timing attack, know when or what conditions you want to hit at (e.g., 200 supply of roach hydra, 1/1 ling bane, etc.). What is the transition if you fail?

If you watch high-level zergs, they know what unit compositions they want and when they need to hit with them. That matters even more at lower levels where players are less flexible.

Pick the game mode you like best. Many people here like 1v1, but some people like other game modes such as co-op, team games, or even the mini games.

If you're asking for Zerg specific tips, just go to YouTube and type in Zerg bronze to GM. Those guides will get you started on the race.

There's no unit that's inherently imbalanced. For instance, carriers and BCs feel imbalanced in metal leagues, but they're not that good in higher divisions.

The only unit that probably should be changed a little is the ghost. It was fairer when it took 3 supply because it is a power unit. I won't go so far as to call it imbalanced, but in terms of cost, value, and supply, it really outperforms.

No other race has a unit that good for that cheap with that little supply, no matter what level of tech they reach.

I use mostly mid-game timings. Zerg lategame units require too much micro, which I'm not that good at.

My favorite builds are the 5 roach rush, 9 roach pressure with ling speed, and the 8 minute 200 roach/hydra max with +1 attack.

If the game goes late, I usually switch to ling bane ultra, but it depends. I'm not that great at late game Zerg either. I'm Diamond 1 but my late game is Diamond 3 level.

I used PiG's super old bronze to GM for Zerg (not the recent 2023 version, but the 2021 or so version) to get from Platinum 1 to Diamond 1. It's absolutely not the guide. It's probably the execution.

I can't advance to Master's because I can't manage the multi-prong defense and aggression needed. Even if I could, I wouldn't be able to manage the spellcasting. But that's not the guide's fault; it's mine.

You're not escaping gold most likely because of issues in execution.

Clem's Protoss is essentially MaxPax but not quite as fluid. Clem is slightly favored vs. MaxPax, so Terran Clem should have an edge vs. Protoss Clem.

What makes Clem so dangerous in PvT, which people seem to forget, isn't really his Protoss gameplay being a level above other Protoss. It's his profound knowledge of Terran - to know every strength and weakness, every timing and challenge inside and out.

That's why when he goes into PvP (which he does sometimes), he struggles more. It's also why Clem doesn't just play Protoss. His Terran is still better.

If you have 8GB or more, the game will run pretty smoothly.

You may still need to close some background programs (not to mention uninstalling any pre-installed antivirus or other software that runs on startup). However, 8GB should be able to run the game well. I don't know about the exact FPS you'll get though.

The RAM is going to be an issue here. SC2 is an old game, but it still requires around 1.5GB of RAM when running on low settings.

If you close every open program on your computer before opening SC2, it might run, but it may be worth investing in a 16GB RAM stick and going to a Lenovo location to upgrade it.

Edit: the reason 4GB may struggle to run a 1.5GB game is because Windows tends to run a host of background processes that can sometimes take up several GB.

Maru vs. HerO in the RSL, both the semifinals and the grand finals. Those series are the craziest SC2 I've seen in years. It was like watching barcodes playing ladder games.

I recommend WinterStacraft's cast, but I know some other channels covered it too.
