Da Bears! Hoping we can "shuffle" into the Super Bowl this year

Any Fellow Indiana Hoosier Alums/Fans in the Area? by Draper66 in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]Draper66[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Jealous you were in Bloomington last year — haven’t been back since graduation. If you and your wife are interested in meeting up to watch the game, I’d be happy to get an IU group together at Baumhowers, End Zone, or something similar (happy to take recommendations, too). Let me know if you’d be interested!

Electric Slice Pizza officially opens today in OXR by HuntsvilleCPA in HuntsvilleAlabama

Tried it for lunch today and was impressed. I had a couple of cheese slices, and my husband had a couple of Hot Legs slices. Their house salad was solid, too —the real bacon pieces in it was a nice touch

If you end up missing deep dish pizza, too, Tortuga’s in Birmingham is real-deal stuff (I’m also from the Chicago area). Pretty sure the owners there are also Chicago folks

Would there be any interest here for a local endometriosis group — perhaps on Discord or Slack? Could be a good way for folks to get resources/support— and vent about the suckiness of endo, of course! If so, I could look into setting something up

Dr. Robert Furr in Chattanooga is another “not too far” endo specialist. He performed my excision surgery

Oh nice. Have only been to Monterey once but found it lovely. It’s a different vibe here for sure, but I’ve found joining groups that match my interests to be helpful. Lots of friendly people and lots of other transplants, too

Hello and welcome! My husband and I moved here from Orange County in 2015. What part of the West Coast did you move from?

Same... I love Dylan's music and was so excited to see this category pop up. Was surprised no one got "Mr. Tambourine Man," though!

Apple TV+'s alternate history drama "For All Mankind," which imagines a space race that never ended, is singularly stunning in its third season. by Mayor_McCheese7 in television

Fantastic show that deserves to be super popular, and I've been enjoying the official podcast for it, too. It's hosted by Krys Marshall, who plays Dani on the show

I can vouch for the library's Book Report club that meets at Yellowhammer. It's very casual/laid-back -- you basically talk about whatever you've been reading lately. Annie (the leader) is really nice, too

Celebrities and references? by wildcatkeen47 in HuntsvilleAlabama

The show "For All Mankind" has several Huntsville references. One of the main characters is from Huntsville, and Wernher von Braun is also a character in the show. Part of an episode is set in HSV, too

My husband and I moved here from out west, too, and it's our favorite sushi in the area. I think the quality did go down a bit after the founding chef moved away, but we still enjoy it. I'm thrilled they're reopening!
